It would be logic to release a world wide software/firmware on 00:00 GMT, at least for me. Sure hope that SE will make a firmware less buggy that the current one (037 generic adriatic)

well one "feature" that SE DID fix SPECIFIC for little ol Rogers is the Caller Name fix that many NON-Branded K850i's are unable to display. Not bad for such a SMALL provider that OWNS the other GSM provider here in Canada.

When you look ONLY at Rogers #'s ... its only 12.6million as of QTR 2 2007; and if you take into account their wholly owned subsidiary, Fido ... add another 10+ Million. its not so much HOW many clients one has, but how much their charging for services & corporate users as well. Sure economies of scale play a HUGE role but I'm willing to bet no more than $30Million CAN/US (since our dollar is close to par with the US = LOSSES to AT&T Wireless these last 6mths since CAN=US par give or take 3pennies) for the last 2 QTR's each qtr for both.

Notice also that Rogers Wireless is releasing the K850i BEFORE AT&T Wireless & also released the W850i before them and their delayed Z750i will be released on Fido by end of February, most likely ALSO before AT&T. Hmm so so many firsts on Rogers if we don't have the cash, and not such a good pull/push relationship?

Hmm. These are facts by the way.

From Rogers' own website:

Rogers Wireless is the largest Canadian wireless communications service provider, serving over 6.8 million retail voice and data subscribers at December 31, 2006 representing approximately 37% of Canadian wireless subscribers.

Are you trying to say that they doubled their customer base in 6 months?

This is not about WHEN Rogers is getting the K850 vs AT&T (we all know that AT&T gets these things last with the exception of the iPhone and that was Steve Jobs strong arming the deal and AT&T bowing down to his demands). This is about the fact that FOUR Months after the rest of the world has gotten the K850i Rogers will finally have it. 5-6 months for AT&T. Does that sound like a strong relationship?

I'm just trying to point out that the statement made by Obentau, "Not to Worry" since Rogers is launching their K850 (4months later) so the firmware MUST coincide with the Rogers launch, is either arrogant or just foolish. As if SE is holding off the release of the firmware for Rogers to launch their phone...

Not sure what "the caller Name fix for the K850" you are referring to or how you know this fix was done FOR Rogers considering THEY (Rogers) haven't even LAUNCHED the phone yet? I guess some clarification is in order.

Just wondering - is it possible/wise to upgrade to the R1DA039 Sweeden firmware (I am a 3 UK user). I wish to keep the 3 branding, I'm just fed up of the R1CA029, it's buggy and occasionally slows a lot. Would there be any fundamental differences between the sweeden and UK firmware (the UK firmware has the Swedish language so I'm guessing it works both ways), and it is possible to upgrade to it through SEUS?

I've been trying to find the firmware files to flash with XS++ but to no avail - I'm not paying Da Vinci team for a phone flash.

As chris' phone is a nordic one (Swedish), I thought I might as well tell you all that there is still no update for the generic ones.
