I switched on the bluejack feature of sman on my P900 while shopping in Asda, West Bridgeford in Nottingham. I found "Emmathebabe" and bluejacked her with "Behind you!" didn't see her though, which is a shame. Would've been nice to see if she really was a babe!

There are any brand of mobiles that sells the products with the bluethooth always "On", and on by defect?? I say this becouse i found in some shoppings a large number of people with BT on, and most people that i tal know that BT on reduces the battery time so thy put BT off... so i was wondering this possibility of BT on without users know that! Thank´s! |

It is possible if they're totally clueless, but sometimes its fun to get bluejacked youself
Or they may have forgotten to turn it off (like me)
But bt enabled fones have some kind of option to wither 'hide' or trun the bt off.

In the States the GUMBA cell sales-kids are quite ignorant when it comes to BT. They set up the phone with the BT "on" and tell their customers to "keep the BT on to make a better connection" People actually believe them! SHEESH! and I thought I was uninformed...

bt's range is about 10 m, so you will lose bjack targets very often.
It's really exasperating.

So exasperating you had to say it twice ?
I sent this kid on the bus a message yesterday, he had a Nokia 7600, you know that square one.. i sent him the message ' ugly phone, buy a SE ! '
He started getting all freaked out, he had no idea who'd sent it to him lol !

The BT range is 10 meter... but this 10 meters are applied in what terms?? For example if i´m on road, and someone is on an building 8 meter above me and on my front 9 meters there´s another, the BT cover the 2´s? |

In range terms yes.. but if theres something that might kill the signal theres a chance it might not connect. I know when i try with my T610, it will connect up to and around 10m but if theres lots of people or something like a thick concrete wall in the way it can stop the signal getting through.
Ive noticed on Nokias, the Bluetooth seems to be more powerful. Although its still 10m, it penetrated objects much easier than my T610 ever can.
Its a 10m sphere all around you in 360 degrees.
