this pritty much sums up the highend phones for WMC
GTommy:
I only saw Beibei and Josephine...Josephine is a very slim phone similiar to W960 in function with 3,2Mp camera (no wlan). Not sure about Tyra but something similiar to Josephine...Beibei was fun but feelt cheap in material (prototype)...It has the scrollwheel where the joystick usually is. With Beibei SE changes how buttons work...But I must say that I am a little dissapointed on SE that they
1 late with new smartphones.
2 Didnt manage to release the same hardware spec that A200 currently have at the same time for their symbian. Meaning A200 developers and symbian developers don't cooperate so good. This is mainly a managment problem for SE (to many old farts are sitting behind the steering wheel of the company).
I think SE managers focus to much on A200 development sine they earn most money there...but they must understand that the future is in smartphones...
Now to something diffrent I have an idea...Why didn't phonemakers release a syste,/function that opens an ip link between phones that are callaing to each other...then people could send files, between each other during calls...
GTommy:
Press stop...People during 3GSM...SE will present Tyra and Josephine (within their smarphones line)...Tyra has 5Mp and Wlan while Jospehine have 3,2 MP and no Wlan...both will be equiped with a numerical keyboard...Paris and Beibei will not be presented...They will be shown for the world within 4-5 months...They will also stop us the names M,W and P...Im not sure if Xperia is the correct thing...
m-one:
Right Tommy There will be a mass of new phones - around 10 to be more precise.
But Beibei and Paris aren't on my list as well. Beibei and Paris are expected to be lauched in Q4, so I guess we'll see them in November Tyra and Josephine belong to the new "Compact Touch Series" As well as Emilie and Beibei will...but later this year
m-one:
The new serie (G) will be used for Compact Touch Series
Tyra (G900i)
• 2,X"- Touchscreen (probably it'll have a 2,6" screen)
• WLAN
• 5 Megapixel
- Josephine (G700i)
• 2,X"- Touchscreen (probably also a 2,6" screen)
• 3,2 Megapixel
Whithout WLAN!
GTommy:
Tyra will be similiar to Josephine in size...
But I can also say that they will have Symbian 9.1 and the UIQ 3 but with some interface improvments...but not so big imporvments if you compare to Paris and Beibei...
Alltgough I hope Paris and Beibei will incorpate symbian 9.5 I also hope SE learnt their lessons from the P990 and M600 release...Also what Nokia had to with the N95. So why was the P990 so catastrophic...Since system is loaded into ram the user actually gets less ram free compared to the P910 who loades system programs directlyl on the fly from the rom...However with the release of the P1 SE released a phone with much more ram...And it improved its system stability very much...So I can say that Tyra and Josephine will be very stable since they are based on the P990,P1...But I hope Paris and Beibei also get stable since SE have learnt their lesson regarding ram together with dynamic garbage collection that Symbian 9.5 incoropate.

Does it mean M and P series are dead; no more W-series with touchscreen, and we will see Walkman or Cyber-shot logo -- even both of them -- on G-Series?

Why would SE make WM products? Especially Since the rumor is HTC is making it. Then it is just a rebranding of an HTC phone. |
