Well i'll give you my update with my K750i.
Basically updated it to RJ1 and GPRS stopped working, rang SE, was told of immiment fix, nothing, so took it back to O2, who told me they would have to send it off to repair. So that's what i did.
Still waiting and it's almost been two weeks, i've been into the O2 store numerous times this week and been fobbed off with the same excuse: 'well ring you when its ready, or we can't contact the repair people, you'll have to wait'. Today, after still hearing nothing i kicked up a stink in the shop, got on of the girls to ring the repair centre. They told her that the phone is 'still awaiting parts' - WTF??? It's not even physically broken, are these people monkeys? I can only interpret that as being that O2 are waiting for SE to give them the RL2 firmware that corrects the GPRS issue, either that or there waiting to give me a new handset on the 4th July.
Either way i've been assured that i'll have the phone back, be it a new one next monday, if not heads with roll!
I've been using a crappy nokia for the past two weeks and im getting fed up with it, esp as i've been to loads of events, places were i could have used the k750's camera loads.
I think its disgusting how SE/O2 have handled this. Imo the phone is fantastic, but SE's customer support stinks. They like probably many out there, have not told me anything, just fobbed me off with 'firmware is ready for an imminent release and we'll ring you when it's ready', two weeks later - not a word. They could have at least put something on their website informing people whats going on. It's bad enough realising a crappy, untested update that's messed peoples phones up, but not doing anything about it is deplorable.
O2 have equally been pretty awkward, not keeping me informed and taking ages to sort out my reflash.
Sorry, rant over. K750i still a great phone thou! When i get it back! |

I got ome of the 'new' batch from O2 a week ago. I have been very impresssed with the phone and the camera is outstanding, however the phone seems to crash all the time, I can be playing a game and the phone will reset itself! I've just looked at the firmware and it's the following:
R1A044
Is this the latest frimware? Has anyone else has any problems from the 'new' batch. Should I contact O2 and get a replacement?

I've also got one of the 'new batch' but it contains the original firmware, so this one is also going back.

my 'new' one still has firmware r1a044 - i take it this is the first firmware since my phone STILL crashes!
at least with o2 online you ring them up and they say "we'll send you a replacement out" instead of physically taking the phone off for repair. |

@rickster2kuk: feel for you mate....this is kinda why i gave up on the o2 store in the end...didn't like the fact that they didn't give straight honest answers or handle problems in a sensible way....
O2 know that its a software fault and they seem to be sending out original phones as replacements which i don't understand...
The phone doesn't need "repairing" but they send it off .... they should just say what the facts are....
O2 online does seem to handle things a lot better that o2 retail...however they are still sending out the old firmware as "fixed" phones which seems to be a waste of everyones time until the new firmware is O2 approved and installed

For people who bought online - and got the free bluetooth headset - has anybody got it to work??
I can get it to pair with the 750 fine, and answer a call, but can't hear anything through the headset. |

I got the same, k750i and headset. I messed with it for ages, it pairs just fine, I even managed to get it to work a couple of times, voice dialing, and conversation via headset, but it's not consistant.
If I turn off the bluetooth headset (after its already been paired) then turn it back on, the phone will connect to it and set the profile. If I try use it (ie press the button on the headset) and voice dial it generally works, audio mic and all. However, after a period of time (minutes) the audio stops being transmitted to the headset. It's still paired, its still connected, and pressing the button on the headset still tells the phone to go into voice dialing mode, only the audio beep, and mic sounds are not transmitted between the two. It just seems to give up over time. It's frustrating to say the least, since I opted for this combination largely to use the bluetooth headset! I'm not sure what to do. Interesting to hear if the latest firmware fixes the bluetooth/headset problems, or just the GPRS issue. Also not sure if its worth taking a photo quality hit either!
COME ON SE - lets see this all sorted
Photo/video quality - back to original
Bluetooth headset issues - All fixed
Freezing/Crashing Issues - Fixed
GPRS connection - Fixed.
It seems the ideal firmware is currently a combination of all three!

Yep - it looks like the second firmware (Rj?) fixes this bluetooth problem.
And the 3rd firmware (Rl?) fixes the gprs problem that the 2nd firmware started (!).
... so now just waiting for a 4th firmware to fix the video/camera.
By firmware number 473 i'm sure they'll have it all sorted. |

Well, I ordered my K750 from O2 online on Tuesday. I was told by the sales person that they would not be back in stock until 4th July. I did read somewhere in the forum that they had been called back because of faults? Anyway, I think my phone is here already (2 days later) as I have a DHL card in my porch!! Im very excited as my K700 is a nightmare at the moment with the text memory issue but am also worried that I'm gonna have loads of problems with the K750 after reading this forum!! How come they have delivered it when it's not supposed to be in stock yet? I will pick it up first thing tomorrow and report back any problems found |

Received the same BT headset from O2. Its the Bluetech G2. As someone already mentioned. I can pair it fine and get it to work the odd time but then audio isnt transmitted to the headset after a while. Not exactly the perfect combination but i am also hoping the firmware sorts this issue out.
You said the issue was resolved in RJ1. Have you this headset. Any more details on this...... |

Back again!
Well i've just been told by O2 that they are sending a new phone out!!
I contacted the girl in the O2 office and I told her the problem and the fact that Craig had told me my new phone would arrive after the 7th of July.
She reassured me that the phone would be a 'fixed' phone. She said that all the replacment phones had been 'sorted'.
Well, we'll have to see |

Hi,
A fixed phone! I just got mine 2 days ago, it doesn't freeze or crash (or has not done yet), but the bluetooth/headset thing is still an issue.
I emailed o2 and got a reply today, saying that it IS one of the new fixed phones.

Anyone know if the *latest* firmware fixes this problem?

If you look at the k750 firmware thread, it says that the firmwares R1J and R1L do fix the bluetooth headset problems.
But obviously introduce the new problems of video and picture quality.... which is why i'm going to wait until SE realease a working firmware update! |

Would seem o2 are defining "fixed" as no longer has GPRS fault or crashes....i'm guessing they don;t know or haven't got round to fixing bluetooth |
