two interesting facts, Jeff Conway who plays Zack was "Kinicky" in Grease (i.e. John Travolta's best friend), and Bill Mumy who plays Lennier was "Beaver" from Leave it to Beaver.

Believe he played Will Robinson too. Though I haven't taken the time to google and find out. :/

chose our reception menu over the weekend (yum yum yum!)

we also mailed all our wedding invitations, and replies are coming in.

finally, received a notice from council to mow the grass on our block because we are coming into fire-danger season

actually there's bugger all, except on the nature strip. it was just a generic notice sent to everyone in the estate because at the moment it's more like a vast expanse of vacant grassland than a residential area. basically, no grass or weeds over 10cm for all of summer.

@JN: you seem more excited than i do. i might start to get anxious about two days before.

@govigov: i don't know that i'm familiar with that song, but not that one either.

there is an explanation of my user name in several places on this forum:

as is answered this question already for bjerky in the Australians where are you thread, i'll repeat here:

it's actually the name of the lead character from a series of stories i started writing with a friend at uni. now i tend to use it as a catch-all internet name for forums and email.

the character is in some respects an idealised version of myself - all of my strengths and none of my weaknesses.

@govi: they're not comics, since i can't draw to save myself. they are closer to short stories and novels. if/when i eventually get around to finishing anything i'll load it up somewhere.

I AM JUST FAR TOO BUSY!

since i was last here the following has happened:

had to prepare and give a presentation to a client

attended a career change seminar

went on a training course (for work)

got sent to queensland for work at the beginning of last week for a few days to help set up a secret-squirrel job, and consequently missed out on my Melbourne Cup public holiday

had an appointment with my specialist for a checkup on a back problem i had a couple of years ago

met with the builder to sign all but two items of our building contract (about time )

went to a highschool reunion

had the bridal party over for their final dance lesson (macedonian dancing, since my fiance is of maco descent)

wrote the church booklet for our wedding ceremony.

whew! now i have to get on with this week, which is also chockers.

@gelfen - Me excited than YOU I guess so . . . because you only manage to get MARRIED once (I hope) ! As for the BRIDE, they should be more excited than the GROOM, as they really be getting/wearing that long white gown - ONCE1 This applies only to countries where there is NO divorce

The C O U N T D O W N continues @gelfen . . . Since I am a Gourmand in my own right, may I just ask what will be for the reception dude? Continental cuisine or what? Will you be having DOVES as your loving pair of birds or CROW's ? Some prefer BATS - just kidding here again my friend . . . I will constantly be monitoring this thread and the event as it progress! More planning to deal with huh?

hi everyone. still going flat-stick with wedding and house. the building contract has been delayed because he didn't like the special conditions we wanted to add (for our own protection). hopefully that will all be sorted out next week. my fiance has finally got to see her dressmaker, and we have upcoming appointments with photo and video type people.

@JN: sorry, don't remember what we put down for the menu. will try to find it.

and last weekend was my buck's night (and also my fiance's hen's night). VERY worthwhile evening.

ONLY TWO AND A HALF WEEKS TO GO!
