I don't think the phone is bulky, but it is larger than many other models on the market. Let's be honest though; it's NOT big. Not everyone likes ultra-thin handsets either (in fact, sales suggest people like something a little more substantial and heavier).

I think we've proven we can build small things, but even the W880i successor appears to be slightly bigger than before. Sounds mad!

As for the Q about the new firmware being quicker, well I've now put the 4GB card in and must say the media player (for music, still to try video) is MUCH quicker. You can scroll left/right through the menus quickly, and it also lists the tracks very quick. Rotation also seems quicker too, so I think there's been some code optimisation going on behind the scenes (even if the equaliser settings don't work properly with manual presets).

Tomorrow I'll check how the phone works with a BT headset AND BT Watch connected simultaneously. I can tell you that it still crackles a bit (sometimes) when it fades the audio in/out when pausing/playing.

Just tried some video and it's still out of sync, even if you turn off the auto rotation. The video works fine on other SE models.

One odd thing to add; when playing a track I've just copied it started to stutter terribly about 2 minutes in. This was though the internal speaker. Rewound it and played the same bit again and it was fine second time around. I wonder if it was doing something in the background (polling for email or something).

Good Pic's posted on your site. That's about what I would expect with the flash in sync.

I have skimmed over the posts in this forum and am surprised that nobody has yet mentioned what is my biggest annoyance with this phone.

When on a call, the touch kys are still active so I end up navigating though the menus with my cheek, sending messages and doing all sorts of mischeif while I am completely unaware.

Has anyone elsoe noticed this?

Soft keys have always been active during a call - otherwise you wouldn't be able to access other phone functions, e.g. looking up a contact, during a call. It's just a lot easier to press them now they they're touch-sensitive instead of traditional buttons.

I tend to hold the speaker to my ear and the rest of the phone slightly away from my face so as to avoid pressing buttons inadvertently. (This also avoids having a screen with a face print on it afterwards!)

I have firmware R1CA029 on my K850i and it shows H instead of 3G, so not sure if this an addition to the new firmware.

I've never had mine show H, and i'm often in sheffield which is a fairly big city in the UK, only ever 3G. Perhaps the newer firmware accepts HSDPA at a lower signal level than the older firmware?

I have R1CA029 too and mine shows 'E' (always) over the signal bars and '3G' when available.

@Mike Graham What Network do you use your K850i on?

@Eva-m00, This firmware fix was to only resolve the camera issue and stop most of the people sending the phone back, I wouldnt think it will be released to th General public for a while or at all, you may find that a new firmware may be released this month, (Quite a big one?) Just trying to fin out about it.

@Duran, I dont think the phone is bulky at all or that the keys are not nice. The phone is simular size to the K800 and the keys are in the correct place. And the joy pad is fantastic, Much better than the joystick

darrengf: What does the new firmware do for the camera? Does it just sort out the out-of-sync flash and the corrupting of the memory card?

Personally, I'd rather wait another few weeks for a firmware that has most of the problems sorted than get a half-assed attempt now. Still, I'm not happy that a company would ship such a shockingly unfinished product. Even Apple have done better than this with their iPod firmware (which on the video shipped with absolutely awful sound quality..)

It's not an E it's a G meaning Gprs. In older phones it was a light blue (cyan) upside down triangle.

The K850i Does have E (Edge)

I get both G and E (When in a Edge area) in the UK.

No Network currenlty supports Edge in greece and as far as im aware they have no plans to either at present.

The Uk networks support edge are O2 (Still in progress), Orange and T-Mobile.

If People would like list of the networks supporting edge or if they want to let me know what network there on and in which country then let me know.
