> That post should be updated in more ways than one....

If you guys have suggestions for the first post, then feel free to let me know.

The main reason why I haven't updated it is because the majority of problems that have been expressed are not universally acknowledged - e.g. some people have a certain problems with their R1N phone (e.g. files going missing from the MS Duo Pro, playlist goes wrong after first pass), but others with the same firmware revision have not experienced and cannot reproduce these problems.

I believe even the bug that is listed on the first page cannot be reproduced by some prople with R1N. I guess I would put a list of the known 'bugs' and mention that it only affects some people, perhaps only those who have had a bad flash?

Personally I would like it if those experiencing problems with files on their phone going missing or issues with the media player would take out their MS Duo Pro and reformat it in windows. After reformatting, retest the phone and see if the problems are still there - and let me know the results!

S*it!!!! My upgraded k750i just destroyed 30 of the pictures on my MS.

Are there any way of recovering the data? It was pictures that I really wanted to keep.

I can't begin to grasp how SE can keep sending theese bad firmwares to their customers.

@jriff

There are plenty of utilities out there to recover lost / corrupted files for digital (and other) media. Just have a search in Google.

As you are obviouly experiencing the flash corruption issue, it would be GREAT if you could reformat your card in Windows (once you have retrieved everything you can off it) and see if this solves your problem. I would be very interested to hear the results.

P.S. Did you flash the phone with the MS Duo inserted?

Well - the thing is that I have no problems copying the files to my harddrive, it's just that the files can't be opened with PhotoShop or any other program I try. It says something about a bad or missing JPEG-header (I think that the files are just garbage)

I have no card reader so I guess that I can't reformat using Windows? Or can I do it through the USB cable supplied with the phone?

And yes - I flashed with the memory card inserted.

Btw. I no longer get a pop-up when I recieve a SMS? Is that a firmware bug also?

Oh - and what is the "flash corruption issue"?

@mwarner

maybe this is exactly wht it should say...

bug so and so reported in some cases but not in others and so on...

At least anyone reading that would have a much broader idea of what they may be affected with....

Perhaps then these users can e-mail SE and ask then about these issues with theire particular CDA [addsig]

Stupid Question Number One: Is this firmware for the W800i or the K750i?

Well ive formatted 1 of 3 m.s to FAT32 tried again to add files, no change what so ever so i formatted back to the original FAT & still no better on my last attempt only 8 out of 54 files were still there after disconnecting! i dont no wot else to try? i thought i had sumat goin wen i done a "settings reset" on each m.s but this didnt last long, can sometimes escape by adding around 5 files but this isnt practical at all. ive lost patience now, also noticed another problem sometimes mp3s get 'over writed' onto a previously added track, the track has the name, length and size of the previous one but when played its one ive just added lol its only happened 3 times so far so im not hung up on that.
checked my log n ive got (38 ERROR didnt get ack for reset of loader) true i had no request to set language or reset on the actual fone after flash so i done master reset myself. dat's about all ive got for now.

I flashed with the memory stick in.

I must be extremely lucky as I have so far not had any of the major bugs that have been reported here, not even with R1A. Having said that though I do have the BT headset problem which is a little frustrating, but I can live with it.

To be honest after 5 months at £30 contract per month this phone is complete bosh. SE up yours.

And another thing - I would love someone to claim SE for false advertising - youve seen the tv advert where the happy couple take a photo of a leaping fish. My points: 1) the camera quality with R1J/L is degraded, 2) the camera takes sooo long to take a photo after pressing the button the dammed fish will be out of sight.

Hmm now to find out if everyone with the file disapearin prob flashed without memory stick, i doubt it makes a difference n it cud be a long shot but its a start coz im baffled n annoyed by it
ive had tiny bugs with R1J nowt big enuff to moan about but this just stinks, ive emailed SE anyways, bet that was a waste of time aswel lmao.
