I don't think you'll ever actually get the "G" in the same place you get "3G" or "H". When just using standard GPRS, there is no icon.
Do you see "H" most of the time? IIRC, HSDPA is better than Edge and 3G. I'd say 75% of the time I see "H", and the rest of the time I see 3G or nothing (hence GPRS).

I've received a response from SE Customer Service here in Romania and they've told me that the latest firmware is R1DA tough I've told them I have R1CA037 Generic Adriatic. I've also asked them about the features in the new firmware and they've ignored that question.
Just tried on SEUS and obviously... no update... What can I say more?
Here is the line referring to the firmware version "Referitor la cerinţa dumneavoastră, dorim să vă informăm că, ultima versiune de software disponibilă pentru telefonul mobil Sony Ericsson K850i este R1DA. "

Just wanted to ask a quick, probably stupid, question?
Has anyone camped out like this for a firmware update on any other phone by any other manufacturer?
I personally have never seen anything like this before... I just hope that Sony Ericsson appreciate the furore that this has caused and learn lessons for the future...

Amen, I feel like a total loser. Clicking on this forum abuot every half hour to see if there are any updates. I want this phone to be all it can be. I still think the pictures I have grabbed have been worth the price though....

Oh most definitaly. I look at it this way, if I gave this phone to my parents, they would hate it. But I come from a nerd/technical field, so I can outsmart/hack/have more patience, for the bugs. It does what I need it to, takes great photos, plays podcasts and music for my commute, lets me check email. I just hope for a speedier and less bumpy experience going forward. |

Hmmm since the update to 038 I can no longer find the option to make the clock large on the homescreen. Has this been removed? :/ |

I only normally get 3G on mine. Only had 'H' twice and that wasn't in Sheffield. I don't actually have 3G turned on now though so I don't get anything anymore. |
