It's a good read.

Is there a non 4G version of the XV? I thought there was just the one version with pentaband 4G and triband 3G.
If your operator has 4G on one of the bands below then it doesn't matter where you buy the phone from.
GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900
UMTS HSPA+ 850, 900, 2100
LTE Band I, Band III, Band V, Band VII and Band XX
4G Bands and Frequencies.

I'm going to be in Thailand but I doubt Thailand bands will support Indian network bands

Thailand market approximately 2-3 months late from global schedule release, keep your expectation down here.
XV use MSM8960 chipset, Qualcomm claim it as world phone with vastly support band frequency.

I think I need to find out first if it's even going to be released in India or not. Unbelievable, at the time of Sony Ericsson, India always got all the products on time with the global schedule and after its become Sony, no Arco S and Ion so coming so late. With T or TX not even released yet and no signs until November. I highly doubt XV will be launched in India. I don't know what's wrong with Sony India.

Im just waiting on a Hong Kong release and then import mine in. I will get it cheaper because the importers here try to undercut the carriers and it works!!! My Neo V was only nz$275 brand new and that was 12 months ago!! Cant wait for the V, I really think this will give Sony some sales, they just need to hard sell the waterproof feature as other top end smartphones arent waterproof, another niche market to exploit!!!! |

Few months ago when I wrote in my wish list a smartphone with quad band lte bands, some forumers here doubted that it was not possible this year. Just look at now how many smarphones with quad band and even penta band LTE. JUst saying. |

According to this website, India uses 900/1800 GSM frequency bands & 2100 for 3G.
http://www.worldtimezone.com/gsm.html
Xperia V supports
GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900
UMTS HSPA+ 850, 900, 2100
LTE Band I, Band III, Bandv V, Band VII and Band XX
So I think I'm much at a safer side if I buy from anywhere else. But I would choose to buy from a region which has a Global ROM since HK ROM might have some differences when it comes to language and apps suited for their country (it's a guess, I'm not sure if it's true)
Anyway, Bring it on. I can't wait for this phone

Unfortunately, the Hong Kong release has been delayed until Late Dec/Early Jan so that it will not affect the sales of TX.

Noticed this doesn't have a camera shutter button but most Sony phones do, really hope they don't go down the road of Apple, Samsung and HTC and stop putting camera buttons on their phones when new models come out this year/next year, it seems that only Sony and Nokia put these on their phones. |
