I stand corrected mate. the more specific and proper term should have been "DVD-like" video. thats how nokia advertised the n93, n95, n82 vid capture.. True DVD resolution hasn't gotten into phones yet

Since they have already thrown in WiFi and GPS, a CCD sensor would probably not have made much difference on the battery consumption unless you put the phone in the hands of someone snapping hundreds of shots every day.
But unfortunately the camphone makers wants us to believe that CMOS is *the* hot thing right now and CCD ancient history.
Still, I'm curious to see sample shots from the first production model. Although I doubt that 8 MP would look much better, apart from color of course, shooting in 3 MP mode probably is equal, if not better, than CCD!
