- 2.4 inch QVGA-resolution scratch-resistant mineral glass TFT display
- 104 x 49 x 18 (136 grams)
- 8.1 megapixels with auto focus (of course!)
- facial recognition, a new feature called Smart Contrast, image - stabilization, BestPic and red-eye reduction
- xenon flash as well as photoflash for both photos and videos
- A-GPS
- Exchange/ActiveSync support
- TV out via ITC-60 accessory
- built-in Wifi (802.11 b/g, one would assume)
- DLNA certified ()
- UMTS/HSDPA models for Europe and the US
The list goes on and on for a Q4 release (unveiling of unit supposedly on the 17-Jun). Of course none of this has been officially announced (link at the bottom of this post) so we'll just have to cross our fingers on the minute details. I don't think I've seen spyshots of this unit anywhere around the web either, so it's laudable for SE to have kept this gorgeous phone under the wraps so well. On top of that, I think this is the best designed phone Sony Ericsson has had since the K800. I don't remember sweating like this when the K850 was first revealed! This looks like the perfect successor to the K800. @

If this is going to be the next high end flagship Cybershot then I really hope make a much stronger slide mech than whats fitted to current models.
Top section looks similar to the W910 I think.
Personally I think I'll pass on this as well. None of the Cybershot phones have interested me since the K800 (the second longest phone I've owned @ 12 months. 1st longest was the S700 @ 30 months) and slides phones are hit and miss imo.
Why not a swivel ? could get the same size screen in as a slider (maybe bigger). Look at the W900. Excellent phone and still is. The swivel mech is a great deal stronger than the slide mech that they make.
Looks like I'll be sticking with my T650 if the C902 isnt an improvement over the K850.
I tried sniffing coke once but didnt like it. The bubbles kept going up my nose |

Rookwise: yes, indeed. The swivel form factor is very and I would've liked to see a real S700 successor in that regard. But we'll take what we can, eh? I actually think the W910's slider mechanism is pretty strong; I've had one for the past 3 months and it hasnt shown signs of being broken-in. We can only hope this carries over to the C905.

ojojojojojo...this is just freaking awesome, (if ts true)
The C905 is the latest camera offering from Sony Ericsson featuring a fully spec’d 8.1 mega pixel camera with auto focus, face recognition, a new feature called Smart Contrast, image stabilization, BestPic, red-eye reduction, xenon flash as well as photoflash for both photos and videos. It’s got a video stabilizer feature as well. You can geo-tag your photos with the built-in GPS with further support for A-GPS, and the large camera resolution makes it possible to do prints in up to A3 sizes! Your photos will automatically flip to landscape mode, when you tilt your phone, as it’s got a built-in accelerometer. You’ll be able to watch your photos on a beautiful 2.4 inch QVGA-resolution scratch-resistant mineral glass TFT display. Feel like sharing your photos on a TV-set? That’s possible as well with the TV-Out Cable ITC-60, also to be announced on the 17th.
That’s not all, though… C905 will be the first feature phone by Sony Ericsson to sport built-in WiFi with DLNA-support, so all media in your home can be shared. It’s also got the latest in Bluetooth connections, supports USB 2.0 data transfers, and can be synchronized with Exchange ActiveSync.

Looks really beautiful in black. If there's no optical zoom then it's a waste.
Agree with you Rookwise that sliders aren't as durable, that's why I would never own one at least the standard ones, ie, W910,N95 as opposed to the X1 type. |

whats wrong with the w910 slider
the 6 or 7 ive played with, and the one i owned, all had very sturdy sliders, even after a bit of use. my brothers is a few months old, its still very strong!
any way back on topic now......

have you owned one for at least one and a half year? If you're one of those people that change phones every six to eight months then sliders are perfect for you.

Its impossible to have owned a W910i that long. I've had mine around three months and it shows absolutely no signs of loosening or anything. Its still as smooth as the day I got it. So if the change over 3 months is zero, I expect that over one and a half years the change will be either very little or none. Why are you so skeptical of a product that is unreleased? We can't tell until its released what it is like, and it is premature to judge it at this stage.
