Do you know if the handset that you bought out of contract will be unlocked?

The woman I spoke to knew nothing at all, but i'll be well annoyed if it ain't. Needless to say they'll be hearing from em again if it's locked to o2 seen as tho most peoples bought on contract are unlocked anyway.
I'll let you know when it arrives.

Thanks. So am i right in thinking that anyone midway through their contract can ring up and buy the phone out of contract for £219.99 or did they make an allowance for you?

I'm trying to work out if i got a decent deal or not.

Free k800i 12 month contract with O2.

£30/mnth for first 6,
£15/mnth for final 6.

250 min UK calls
100 text

The 100 kb internet seems bloody stingy though....

I might take it back, but i'm not sure.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is a standard sim-free price for anyone.
They wouldn't go any lower for me, which is fair enough as it's not as if I'm committing to them for any longer with a new contract or anything

Excuse me for sounding a bit naive, but how did you manage to get a deal like that from orange? And how did some of you others get k800i deals less than £25 with free phone?

I thought i'd got a great deal at the time (first day i'd seen the phone in the shop), but now i feel like a chump. I might cancel my current contract if i can get a deal like i see here with some other (or the same) provider...

Did people Haggle in store (i thought i did that...)? Speak to customer services about leaving 'cos my deal is shit?

Thats the risk you take with buying on impulse.... do your research first, if its been 14 days since you got connected to O2 then you are suckered into the full term of your contract.

I only got the phone 5 days ago, so that's not a problem. My missus and i sat down and talked about the contract, so it wasn't EXACTLY impulsive either. I just saw the phone i wanted and tried to get the best deal i could. I'm just interested to know how people managed to get such good deals that i can't find on the internet... It's the only way i'll learn....

I mean, i'd take that orange deal (one from karl.othen) right now if i knew i could get it!!

over the phone is deffinatly the way to go if you want to haggle, especially with O2, I cant speak for most other networks but loyalty bonuses with the same network provider help.

mate of mine, blagged o2 saying that he was a PAYG customer for 4 years and wanted to take out his first contract, he actually got a loyalty bonus when upto that point he'd only ever been on T-mobile and Voda.

yep best way forward is to haggle with you network provider (o2) but as you have signed a new contract i can't see them willingly giving you an even better deal just by calling them after 5 days of the contract being taken out
best way forward would be to cancel the contract and start from scratch.
i had an impuls buy when i got my first k800i, came out on o2 first and i got sukered into a 5hite deal due to my gadget diet, i soon realised that i was getting a poor deal and swiftly contacted my old network provider (orange) and said to them that "providing you can give me a good deal i am considering ending my new contract with o2 to come back to orange"
and that's how i got my package for so little

if for some reason you can not get out of your contract, knock your price plan down as cheap as it will go, usally a £10 data tariff, then sell the phone on ebay for £200+, then use this money to pay off the remaining 11 months of £10 instalments

well i have left o2 today after 3 years of loyalty with them - i tried to haggle but they wouldnt have none of it so i got my pac code and left!!
I have just signed up with orange and my k800i should be here on tuesday, but now im not so sure i have got a good deal.....

12 months contract
free k800i
300 mins
100 texts
£30 a month

But i dont think i have any internet mins or anything else PLUS ive heard they do free broadband for £30+ tariff but this wasnt mentioned to me ( not that i want to have it anyway as im mid-contract but still......)
i also just read that orange have deleted the blogger option - they dont provide a memory stick and now im feeling a little conned -
any hints or tips on how i can blag more from orange will be gratefully received thanks
