Am always selling then buying again rarely out of pocket. Just love changing alot but I would like to stick with something for a while. Yes get the Arc S whitest it's still a bargain. It's nice and fast. The white plastics to me from what I remember feels stronger than older Arc did to me.

Will ICS bring a new and improved camera driver? I'm thinking lower compression and improved noise reduction. |

Not 100% on that but over in the Arc thread I think someone did say it will

Well I hope it will as I'm planning on getting a white arc S this month.
I have one question though, do the newer arc S still have the cracking issues? I know I read somewhere that Sony Ericsson fixed that, but I find more relevant an opinion from an actual owner of the device. Thanks. |

How good quality video can the Arc S handle?
in mp4, h.264 and ffmpeg?
I am thinking max bitrate for video/audio.

I am wondering about getting the Arc S,because I don't feel the Xperia S is worth the money.
What's it like coming from X10 to Arc (S)? Anyone done it? =)

@roanmy
i did that switch last year (arc) and the Arc s i kinda feel the same about. it was pleasant, but now a year later i would not, to less of a update in cpu/gpu/ram, back then it was high end, now when Xperia S, and soon Galaxy 3 etc, it has not much to show for imo.
the advantage imo is the design. i have the Misty Silver Arc and it is really nice. but i would go for a new more powerfull phone, handles games (3d games better) will get updates for a longer time, better screens, but i guess the Arc S is much value for your money!

I came from an X10. Arc S is essentially the same but with better experience. Connection to data & wifi is faster/smoother, browsing rendering and scrolling is smoother, speakers and earpiece volume are much louder/better. HD videos render without a hitch, 3D games render great as well. Multitasking is only slightly better though, sometimes music from the stock player gets killed while I browse which is really, really bad, and I blame it on the tiny internal memory which is even smaller than X10's. If you're into imaging though, don't go for this phone which brings me to another topic.
X10 camera quality wins hands down. There's even a bottom left blur issue on Arc S which I thought was unique to my set until I sent it to an SE service centre only to test another Arc S to find out it has the same exact condition. Therefore, I can't have it replaced as there's nothing 'wrong' with it as compared to other units. What the hell? Does anyone know what I can do about this?? This is outrageous and I have no idea how to go about with this.
It's such an irritating problem as it means I can't get a perfect image 100% of the time. WTF

Some would still choose Arc S over X10 when it comes to cameras, though. Provided that the bottom left blur is fixed.

So I got the Arc S, because there was a crazy cheap offer.
Now, as for the screen protector that comes with... Do I need to be particularly careful when I put it on, or does it smooth itself out nicely?
