There are rumors of a W980i...maybe that's what you're thinking of?
Also BeiBei...which may or may not be that device.
@Mizzle: By your best guess, what is likely the reason for the confusion regarding the codenames/devices, and what do you think it means? |

previous 3GSM we saw W880i, K550, K810, W610, some low ends phones and accessories.
low ends phones we saw at India announcement.
K550- we had a spy shot of new mid cyber shot.
K810- redesign K850 ?
P5+ Beibei 2 UIQ phones, 1 is walkman branded.
Will we see more or that it?

@zaidiyano, I'd rather SE came out with devices that function as advertised. So, in that respect blind devotion is not good and actually encourages SE to keep being sloppy.
Following the SE progress with the P990, P1 and even the non-symbian K850 it's obvious that SE needs some serious improvement of it's design, testing and QA departments.
So let's not just give SE a free pass to do whatever they like and demand better quality products that match their advertised specs.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

makbil...the P1??? why is that??? you really should use one...you will see SE learned the mistakes made with the P990
update: guys, i can confirm our thoughts that SE is working with TWO new iterations of UIQ, one of which is UIQ4...
and like mizzle already hinted, 2008 will bring LOTS of uiq devices...much more than before

Off-Topic: People stop with the Photoshops. There is a dedicated thread to that stuff. Please only SE 2008 news/rumors.
On Topic: I have been using SE regular phones solely for the better part of 3 years. It is time that SE UIQ catered to us Americans and delivered something that we all want. Beibei and the P5i hopefully will be a start in a resurgence of greatness for SE smartphones. |

Agreed.
I remain optimistic in this regard.
Though I look forward to a UIQ Cyber-shot more than BeiBei. We shall see. |
