Impossible, payed a lot not to need to learn to use an bug device that the box said that it worked fine...

Well if you can find a bug free phone that has the same features and battery life that the K850i has...
I'll trade in my K850i for it...
If you can't then I suggest you stop complaining...
If all of you are so unhappy with your K850's, get rid of them, SE isn't holding a gun to you head forcing you to keep them!
I'm getting sick of people complaining about the phone.
General Rule of Life:
If you think something isn't working properly, get rid of it and get something that does!
Don't whine about it forever, of course it is your money. Use it wisely in the future!
P.S. I love my K850i, It does exactly what I need... It has an excellent Cybershot user interface and takes great photo's... |

hmm I see that sarcasm doesn’t come through well on forums. Trust me; no one is more upset about this phone than I am. I'm never buying anything with the sony logo on it again, and I'm happy to say that I've already convinced two friends to go for a nokia instead. I think the worst thing of all is how we're being kept completely in the dark.
I think the comic below expresses my feelings better than words can. I know I've posted it before, but it only becomes more relevant with each passing day.

Mine doesn't. This is what happens when i take a photo from 4 feet away. I havent been able to take photos of people's faces since I got this phone. I would have returned the phone a long time ago if i had the luxury to do so. Also, the n82 has the same features, as well as gps and wifi.
PS, dont tell me to lower my iso settings. ive tried that

First like you said nobody is forcing me nothing...I do whatwhever i want.
And i'm going still to complain about this phone and about SE whatever you like it or not.
For me Sony is the best company of all. I have since Sony Vaio notebooks, Bravia Theathre and LCD all over my house, Blu Ray Devices, PS3 etc. Have and use Sony Ericsson since 2002.
T68i > T610 > K700i > K750i > K800i > K850i.
And my disapointed about the company (Sony Ericsson only, not Sony) becouse since it have more market share, and the profits only grow, they are making worse cellphones and more buggy than ever... Really a shame...

Buying a N82 will not solve your problem if you are a SE customer, you will very soon miss the built quality, materials and the original SE menus...
Ask someone who tried like me with a N95! it didn't last 1 month before I sold it and returned to SE world with a K850
Also NOT ALL K850 have bugs ONLY a few, mine has 037 FW and is rocking without any bugs! and if you think one second that the N82 has not Bugs...you are very mistaken apart the battery life...

You are totally right... with bugs or not. I'm very used to the SE Desing. The good materials and stylish phones. The good quality and easy to use menus... etc.. I think that Sony Ericsson have the best software.. in beauty and easy to use.. Somes love the Symbian, maybe is really good for who likes to use several progams etc.. But i think is ugly slow and complicated... |

Answer these for me:
1. What firmware do you have?
2. What are your camera settings?
3. Have you tried cleaning the light sensor?
4. How do you take your photos? (How do you use the button when taking the shot)
Thanks, |

The battery life on the K850 is absolutely appaling!! I only get 2 or 3 days max out of it, I easlily got 5 out of my K800!! |

2. everything is auto. ive tried changing just about every setting in the phones camera with little success
3. yes
4. holding the shutter button half-way down until the green box appears. i know how to take photos. this phone's camera functionality is simply broken. im glad yours works, but most peoples dont |

Well, moving from one mobile manufacturer to Sony Ericsson, 3-4 days of battery life from power use (10-15 photo's a day with flash), 1 hour of calls, 10-15 sms is very impressive compared to 10-12 hours of very similar use from the other mobile manufacturer. So yes, good battery life. My K850i has never died on me when I needed it. |
