IF the data account is locked to the carrier you may be screwed with trying to use mms. I know that, for some reason, Fido locks the data account. Someone had the phone unlocked from them but there was no way to unlock the data account. Btw, I work for SE, so if anyone has any questions. Feel free to ask.

I work at their customer care in London. It is the only centre in NA.
Just to let you know, a lot of this rumour stuff does not get to us at all.
We aren't give any rumours or secret info here, unfortunately. Sorry if you were hoping I knew about these rumoured phones such as p915. |

For SE phone from Fido, although the data account is locked, you can create a new data account and WAP profile. That's how I got around to disable graphic display for WAP pages. But for Vodafone, I think they lock down everything. Flashing can remove the customization.
Oh... customer care... I called to complain about the flashlight attachment I bought for T610, which doesn't flash. They gave me a number to call in the 905 area code. That went directly to someone's voicemail @ Selectron(sp.) Have been waiting for a call back since February. LOL.

Ok, this might sopund stupid to you guys, but here it is.
I own a n gage qd and I am with Fido here in British Columbia.
I managed to get internet on the n gage, but I cant get email or on line with the games through arena.
I have tried pop3.fido.ca for incoming mail
smtp.fido.ca for outgoing mail
and gprs.fido.ca or outgoing mail
I can however receive text message from other phones to mine, and I can also receive email from my desk tp to my n gage.
Please help.

Fido does not offer pop3 or any email download. To receive email you have to use your own service provider's account and POP3. For people sending email to your Fido number, you can only receive those by SMS @ 15cents each.
SMTP server for Fido is gprs.fido.ca |

I'm from Canada as well.
I don't know about Toronto, but out here you can get the k700 at lots of little asian cell phone places that bring in lots of phones from Hong Kong. You can probably find them in Toronto-try an asian mall or something? They have lots of cell phone places! |

I've just bought an unlocked T637 and I was hoping that someone could help me with getting it set up for http access. WAP access is fine.
I'm on Fido.

i've been in contact with rogers and heres what i've got
rogers uses both 850 and 1900, meaning if u have a european tri band, it will work(900/1800/1900)..and if u have an american version of w/e u have, it will work too because of the 850 (850/1800/1900).
fido however, only uses 1900...so... there will be times when ..if ur roaming...u will pick up fido instead of rogers..if u have the european version. (random)
ps. rogers ..or ..me, for that matter, "cannot be held responsible if the device does not function according to the user's expectations" if it isn't a rogers phone.. |

I really think we should have a purely canadian forum. |
