Another Buy,
I use my k800i ALLOT to listen to music, so you have the option of editing the equalizer on the k850i, but it wont stay customized! i maxed out all the bars, but once you exit media player, and go back in, the preset is back to normal! ANNOYING!!!
I MISS SOO MUCH!! the list only view for text message too!! also cant resize text msg font size.
I MISS THE standby clock!!! 
the UI is soooooooooooooooooo slow, lags lags! to load up the artist in media player, music.. just takes forever!!
VIDEO is rubbish, its to pixelly!
SE REALLY need to get a firmware update sorted!! hurry hurry, i think i will send my phone back and see what things are like in the new year with it! because as of right now i dont like it at all, i will stick to my k800i

very true.. but you get more volume if the bars are maxed, but this is not the point, the point is.. it should work!! i have been thinking with all the complaints, the firmware update is going to have to fix the problems!! i loved the k750i and k800i..
holding the handset (k850i) and playing with it again.. it feels like they have been pressured to get something released, but with 1yr or so of being in production, i am shocked they even let it get released in the state it is in. the firmware update has got to fix the problems occurring for everyone..
1. i would beg for the "list" view featuring being missed for text messages! ..
2. and just sort out night vision mode for the camera with flash, defo out of sync.. and once again standby clock!
by the way, for the PAUSE and PLAY button.. it got moved onto a remote, HPM - 90! i want to hear someone try it with the phone before i buy it! |

I realise now I needed to write in 144 point Arial Bold to get the point over; the flash does not fire - or does but is early. The sensor is NEVER covered.
Can't people read that the EXIF data says the flash fired, so it adjusts the ISO/exposure settings to match. If you switched the flash off, it would work better (but you'll get a dark or blurred image instead - but at least not pitch black).
And if the sensor WAS being covered, what would you expect it to do anyway? Would you expect it to allow you to take a picture but mess it up? Would you expect it to flash early or not at all?

I previously reported the same problem with shooting in the dark but on further testing with the phone, it turns out that the phone camera seems to be working fine.
I now realise that the problem with dark or pitch black pictures is because of the clear film that comes with the phone. I removed the film and tried out taking more pictures so see what difference it would make. The results of that is that the pictures came out fine with proper flash exposure (to my eyes) and bearing in mind that these pictures were taken in near if not complete darkness!!
In addition and as pointed out by one of the users, they way the phone is being held is quite significant. I've tried to deliberately stick one of my fingers out (about 1cm) over the phone and as expected the pictures turned out to be slighter darker than if you were to hold the phone with no obstructions.

Yeah, I'm still unhappy with the MANUAL EQUALIZER issue!! There seems to be no way of keeping the manual setting once you've come out of the media player. This is absurd!! Didn't SE conduct the bloody testing before releasing this onto the market??
I hope they're going to release an update to fix this problem or else it's pointless for me to keep this phone as listening to music is one of my top priority for purchasing the phone in the first place. |

I'm LOVING this phone!!! Only took 1 day to get used to the new controles  )
The only bug I have found so far is that when you are in silent mode the camera still makes a noise when you take a photo! Bloody pain in the arse if you ask me...
Any updates on O2 to get rid of this yet? |

Hi everyone,
I too have the problem with the synchronization of the flash.
It only comes right about 10 % of the times.
Also I have found another bug (don't know if anyone else posted it already):
the volume buttons don't always work; when listening to a song, or in a call, I cannot adjust the volume.
To fix this, I have to restart the phone, and then, it's ok.... 'til the next day when I wake up, turn on the phone, and ... again... the same thing. |

k850i is JUNK!! it has the same cmos sensor as the k800!!!!! only that it has 5MPx. I ask you a question. If the k800 had its camera at max, then what could the k850i be? interpolated LOL ?! Also i heard that it freezes a lot of times, flash is not synced right, its slow, etc. It has the same processor as the k800. I knew it from the start that it would be a piece of crap. But none believed me. The whole world is disapointed about the k850i (source taiwan+corean Phone magazines, and 95% of users). Picture quality is almost as good as k800 pictures. Sony blew it in 2007. Hope that he learned from its major mistake, and will release a decent phone in 2008. Peace brothers. lets pray for SE. |

A small bug to report.
When taking a picture, the icon in the bottom left corner showing where the picture will be saved, for me its the memory card, so an arow pointing to a card.
but when the picture is taken, and i'm in review mode, the icon changes to an arrow and a phone.
the photo still goes to the memory card, so its not a huge bug, but one all the same.
i'm on an unbranded handset btw

let's not be so harsh on this phone, my co-national friend.
applying your judgment, the K800 is only an "interpolated camera" of the K750 and so on...
we have some other improvements over K800/810 (besides the camera):
- larger display
- HSPDA
- far better video recording (in my opinion)
- and so on.
the bugs in this early firmware will be solved with the next ones, as we all know by now. I have owned the K750 also from it's beginning and believe me, it was far worse; it froze every 10 min and I had to remove the battery. It was an unusable phone, but with the second firmware, everything was ok and I expect this to happen now with the K850.
Sure, we might say Sony could have done a better job with the camera, but still, Nokia's pics are far worse.

my sentiments exactly, its not just, "another K800" the K810 was more that, this is the next step for SE, both the K850 and the W910 are the start of deployment of thier new software platform, and not forgetting the Quad-Band'ness (i doubt thats a word  ) and new media interface, and the host of other features added, some just being small nifty quirks, just give it time. it'll work out

Don't know if anyone posted this already: I noticed that the flash doesn't sync with the image capture if you hold your hand over the sensors, so its not a software failure.
Bug report:
I have noticed that after a longer usage of the Media Player and other fuctions I can't change the volume anymore, after reboot it works again propperly. | |
