SE won't incorporate 3,5mm jack, because they have their own standard.
You can use the adaptor
3,5mm jack is too bulky too implement it on the hardware. It needs too much space inside of the devices
There will be only one connector for all purposes, so you have to put up with this.
I don't mind, really. |

Eldar says we will see phones with 3.5:
"3,5 mm audio jack. A number of products in 2008 will finally acquire 3,5 mm audio jacks on casing. This is also a reaction to a common opinion that this socket is a must for music-heavy phones."
Also two phones with VGA res , maybe Paris will be the first? :
"the year 2008 will also see first two devices boasting VGA-screens."

3.5mm shouldnt be a need for SE users cuz you can change your headphone eitherway. But for Nokia users ...well you know why they are obsessed with 3.5mm jack...cuz nokia phones which dont have 3.5mm jack comes with a headphone which you cannot change. In otherwords SE comes with 3.5mm adaptor and nokia doesnt ! No wonder 3.5mm jack is like God to nokia users !
FYI : half of the things elder says is true.

Some Nokia headsets do have a 3.5mm jack, and yeah they don't have 3.5mm on all their handsfree headsets just like SE. which is why nokia embeed 3.5mm on the phone instead. but sad to say i hate nokia's approach no wonder why their headsets fail to penetrate market(poor sound quality, and was killed by 3rd party ones as well)

XPERIA reminds me of Nexperia... Isn't that an out-of-date chip or something?

you OBVIOUSLY haven't seen Nokia's worldwide sales/revenue/income report this past week for the past qtr, have you? Making silly comments like this is just blind patronage. Something in my opinion doesn't help SE in anyway, shape or form. SE needs a bit of criticism, a stab in the rib to wake them up. Don't think for a moment that Nokia's N95 hasn't wither ... you'll se with the upcoming P5i.

lmao
I think you're shooting in the dark and perhaps i could apply dogmann's popular trademark here but can you please point me where in the post have i said anything that arguably defines your post? i never said their handsets were failing but "headsets sales" you heard me mate headsets which means handsfree earphones. you simply jumped into conclusion when you percieved that i'm referring about the phones and not headsets

no, but a high-end with up-to-date(for sure) features trademark

@razec ... fair enough.
But I still believe that Nokia's headsets (at least the BT ones are selling a lot better) than SE's. However sticking to the 3.5mm models ... I don't think they have more than two .. and nor should they because users will use their own choice of skullcandy - a brand I know but its best term for a headset (3.5mm for music listening I've seen).
Bah you win this round, hehe.

That "fair enough" tagline is also dogmann's(Marc) way to readmit himself from his human mistake
I do hope that SE would revive the audio jack feature. remember P800? P900? P910?
