After experiencing all these problems... and the slow actions on releasing firmware, I think SE has already turned away many customers...

As a SE user for the last 3 generations, I'm disappointed too... If K850i software is not ready, they should not have released the phone...

SE, and other manufacturers, have since a good while back made us customers, beta testers for their firmware. It's very bad!
(and don't make the software comparision with windows because it's not the same at all)

I very much doubt that they have turned that many customers away... Let's face it, this community doesn't even account for 1% of 1% of the total SE user base and we're the loudest to scream when we find the tiniest bug. Also - not all phones have ALL the problems listed here even if they have the same firmware - I for one (037) have had no problem with the camera quality but I think it could be faster in response indeed. I also don't have the volume control zoom/picture/volume control problem mentioned in this thread.

Most users out there won't get the next firmware update for at least a month and that is IF they have configured the FOTA to remind them and check once a month...

I have a car charger and the phone doesn't detect it, though it thankfully does charge. From memory my old K750i would automatically switch to the car profile when you plugged in the car charger.

The biggest problems I'd like fixed:
- Camera flash tweaks. I don't get as many dark photos now, but you can't use the flash unless you are at least a meter away otherwise the picture is washed out and white. Macro mode doesn't seem to make any difference for me. Day time photos can turn out quite good. The optics is the real problem... there is only so much software can fix.
- Bestpic I use a lot and often it takes 9 photos exactly the same. Could be a timing thing.. like not waiting for the camera to finish focusing etc?
- Megabass creates distortion, though that's minor for me.
- General performance improvements.
- Video recording improvements. The quality is very average, though what can you expect for 320x240? SE should have made it 640x480 resolution. (Strange that the video looks really good on screen when recording, but the recorded file is grainy/blocky).
- Media player glitches. eg. When using shuffle then using camera it repeats the same song over and over on occasion.

I've also been converting some videos and I must say they look very nice on the phone. The only problem I had was I can't watch the videos in landscape when I'm wearing my sunglasses as they are polarised making the screen look black LOL I find the screen is quite bright and vivid normally.

@Tervel
I truly think we are far more than 1% of 1% of the population that has the K850. Rather at least 30% of the total population that own a K850 and have some kind of bug problem(yes i'm guessing here but i think that esato is a good representation of SE owners). And if, as you said, we on esato are, in total only 1% of the SE owners and if, as i believe, that many of us have bugs then how many of the other SE-population would then have bugs? Hmm makes you think don't it. And the others out of the 99% that have problems with buggy firmware, that have bought such a hight tech phone as the K850, most ceartainly have done something about it- take their phone to the service centres, returned the phone or even sell it.

I don't say that SE really looses that many customer over this...but in the long run who knows. I just wantet to point out that are surely lots of people that experience bugs. Even those who doesn't hang out on esato. And i think it's bad form to let us be the true beta testers!
If you read the threads here you'll see. And then we havent mentioned the creaky cover issue and the dust in the camera housing issue!

But i'm sticking to my K850 hoping that they will fix this and lift the K850 to its true potential!

The black and Silver phone comes to o2 in March.

Not sure if Other nerworks will get it straight away.

May be an exclusive to o2 first?

I feel/guess that i won't arrive until next week at the earliest. I can wait a couple of weeks more providing that the firmware is really good!
And if it doesn't arrive soon i will take my phone to a service centre and demand that they fix my phone so that i can run my java's and games(probably they will roll back the firmware or do somekind of "hard" flash)
