So, what are we expecting:
Improved Zoom focusing on Macro?
Walkman tuned audio
Improved 'Bravia' screen.

that sounds about right.
will be interested to see if 4k makes a return, but won't be surprised if it doesn't.
also sad it won't be 21:9 ratio since i love watching full screen movies on my phone! but it is what it is. as long as the screen is top quality and it seems that the VI has a very good screen, so VII should be same or better.
personally, I'm most excited about camera features. i've been finding that my 1ii's camera has been a bit lacking lately and I am really interested in the telephoto macro feature. I will definitely be using that often. I hope video stabilization is improved too. It is pretty much non-existent on the 1ii and that's very disappointing.

Probably just a copy paste placeholder.

Looks like this is The one to have. Leveraging the primary strengths. Could it have music control buttons like the W902?

Looks like they are adding a teaser every few days. Walkman this time as others have mentioned. Next will be bravia probably on sunday.

since we've already seen the regulatory testing photos, it seems unlikely there will be physical music control buttons unless sony pulled a real fast one on everyone.
more than likely we will see a dedicated walkman app. very curious what type of hardware they will add to make it "walkman".
Sony also confirmed XM6 for May 16.. which makes it seem unlikely it will get bundled with the vii. That's pretty sad. They will have to really sweeten the deal of they want to bundle the xm5 while announcing the xm6s. Time will tell! Definitely feeling excited and hope I don't get disappointed with hurdles and extra costs preventing me from buying a vii

I have to come out of the woodwork to say that the "prototype" seen on Reddit is nothing more than a sloppy made fake
As for future Xperia, nothing really changed. Sony cancelled some unannounced Xperia model(s) at the end of 2024 because they are unsaleable. 2025 will be even more bleak.
You make it sound like the vii is just a trash junk release. It sounds like it's a pretty good update to me. Not much different from what other manufacturers do every year.
I personally would like Sony to keep doing their thing with 4k and 21:9 ratio but here we are.
What makes you say that things are so bleak?

Yes. Taking the notification light and 21:9 pissed off a lot of people. Hopefully they'll give something unique back this time around.

What! They got rid of the notification light? Aw man.. that's sad. I use that light all the time.
Hope they bring it back this time but I think 4k 21:9 is probably no more ..

Big change is 4 os updates and 6 years of security updates. That's fantastic
