Slightly losing to INNOV8 or Renoir in quality department, yes, but it doesn't suck. In fact, it's become my primary device for taking photos. |

Not sure if this was announced yet ... but PeterKay ... finally got one up on you.
Whats HOT is that the Idou officially uses the TI OMAP 3430!

At Symbian Foundation Open Forum at CTIA, in Las Vegas, several members of Symbian-Foundation where meeting and of particular interest was Texas Instruments, Visa (for USA), Orange & of course SonyEricsson.
SonyEricsson had a representative there showing off their latest toy ... the IDou, with Tim from TI announcing it officially uses the OMAP 3430!
Video of PROOF!

I don't think anyone knows as it hasn't been officially announced yet. We only know its going to be available sometime after July but not sure in which markets.

@prom1, well symbian foundation's reference platform was the TI 34xx so it should not surprise us if idou will be using it. palm's pre smartphone also uses 3430 cpu.

omnia hd has basiclly overpassed it in every department, well except the so called 12.1 mpx camera (which doesn't impress me that much..remember k850, c905)
Yea..please do remember the C905.The best overall camphone in the market yet.

overall? it loses from the start just by comparing recording capabilities. it went last in the shoot-out with the other 8mpx cameras |

True, but its still great to get a solid confirmation even direct from the supplier; not a runaround kind of answer. |

@Recl Yeah bud, we all know that Please don't forget though - this is a SE forum, therefore SE is the best. Who cares about the truth. In the past I too used to point out weaknesses in SE phones until I realized what's really is going on. Now I just go with the flow. Within I am happy to see my beloved OS (S60) has won the war among Symbian and now is ready to take on Apple and WM. Is a bitter pill to swallow by some old 'arch enemies' of mine in this forum and I can't help but note how quiet they went For example I know by now the Idou will use the exact screen the 5800 uses (cut to a bigger size though) and yet some SE fanboys still keep on bashing the poor 5800 display while praising the 'uber crisp' Idou. Furthermore, the 'mighty' OS Idou will use, is so closely related to s60v5,some programs will work out of the box on both devices. The UIQ is dead for quite some time now, yet some fanboys don't accept the reality

well i had some bad experiences with SE phones.. I don't say others are more better, just that in the last 3 years, i had 3 SE phones (more before, but they where ok), and the thing you needed most always stopped working when you needed it (ex.. got BROD on K850i when i needed music playback, C905 woldn't record more than 38 seconds, exaclty when there was something really important i needed to capture... <--reflashed... G900 had issues, etc)
I mean they where using that F....G 200Mhz cpu since k800... and pushed it to it's limits, even over that, thats why k850 always had BRODS... when cpu got hot, crashed, restarted, or etc. Now it's about time to switch to the new OMAP.. it's eighter this or Omnia HD for me. I really hope it will be idou, but the HD video recording in the samsung is a huge advantage, and not forget the AMOLED screen, TV out, AND the 3mb/s video bitrate playback.. or even 4!
The thing is, i like the meny layout and the media player that SE uses... the interface. :/ will be looking forward to see this Idou become a massive hit, or a failure. Hope for the first.

I was thinking of getting the Xperia but what the Xperia lacks for me is a decent camera, this looks good. |
