Enjoy my N95 much more than my 880. Just one better thing with the phone and that is the size.

wins cos I use my phone as my modem.
You lose because you can't read. http://europe.nokia.com/A4323297
N95 Technical Data
Data Transfer*
WCDMA 2100 (HSDPA) with simultaneous voice and packet data (PS max speed UL/DL= 384/3.6MB, CS max speed 64kbps)
Dual Transfer Mode (DTM) support for simultaneous voice and packet data connection in GSM/EDGE networks. Simple class A, multi slot class 11, max speed DL/UL: 177.6/118.4 kbits/s
EGPRS class B, multi slot class 32, max speed DL/UL= 296 / 177.6 kbits/s
Another myth debunked.
Regardless, T-Mobile UK are supporting 3.6 Mbps on their network in the UK, and when you use a T-Mob sim card in the N95 you only get 1.8 Mbps. Customers have been told by T-mob that this is in fact because the phone doesnt support 3.6 Mbps.
N95 costs £450, the K850i will cost £300 max on launch I'm sure.
What does the N95 do as extra thats worth the £150+? Very little. My upgrade was last month and it would have cost me £270 to upgrade to the N95 and carry on paying £35 a month. Instead of this I took out a £15 retention saving me £180 over the year on line rental, and the £270 will go towards the K850i.
The N95 cant even be compared to the K850i FFS because one is a high end and one is a mid range, but the extra features on the N95 aren't even useful.
Oh, and the K850 looks nicer, and its smaller.

@Bhavv
Well i hope you enjoy your K850 when it is released and the rest of us will continue to enjoy our N95's right now.
If that was the deal your network offered you on a N95 they were ripping you off not our fault you don't know how to find a good deal.
The N95 is just so terrible now is it? I suppose that explains why it is selling so well then.

Universal translation: "I just got owned"...
News flash. That story has been handed down and down and down. The N95 does support full speed HSDPA but guess which network is limiting the bandwidth because not all the parts are in place. Take a guess. You mentioned it a few times. Get over it dude. You are speculating about a phone this is not on the market and may not come against one that is the best seller in the UK. Makes you look a bit silly in my book. Second, who are you to say what features are and are not useful? Much more silliness from your section of town. In short, give up as you are way over your head. Just hope and pray that Dogmann does not enter the fray and teach you a lesson regarding the realities as they present themselves.

Hi sapporobaby
To be honest after he brought up HSDPA in the first place as where the K850 kills the N95 which of course it doesn't as it isn't realeased yet BUT being so important. Then tells us it doesn't matter and the fact that T-Mobile and most of the Networks don't have 3.8mbps rolled out yet but they should do by year end i gave up on him. As obviously he believes SE just make the best devices with all the best spec's always and won't let a little thing like facts get in the way.

Hey Sappy and dogmann, take a look at post #13 in this thread http://www.astraownersclub.co[....]read.php?p=1080293#post1080293
There is a lot of unadultarated tripe written about the N95 but that beats the rubbish espoused by even our freind above

@mweb6161,
Exactly mate. After the new v12 upgrade, minus a few issuse, mainly the key press, the N95 has been rock steady. Mine has not crashed. I run as many apps as I want but actually close those I do not need. As I have tried to explain several times over, Nokia does not make batteries. They buy them just like others. The battery in the N95 was selected for a reason. The main reason being that 99.9% of people are not using it as a GPS device daily. Second, with radio, or other MM usage the battery will last easily a day. Yes, you have to recharge it at night but what is the constant whining about recharging your phone at night? I have never understood these people falling for the "Standby Time" marketing hype. It does not matter.

why then buy a GPS phone, if not needed? thats one thing that i like about SE if you want a camphone, you dont get any other extra feature if you dont need them. you can buy a k810 if you only need a camphone, but if you need a camera and smartphone you can pick P1i when you want a nokia cameraphone its mostly a smartphone, which effects that the price is a bit to high
thats just my opinion |

Yes because 750 minutes and 700 texts for £25 a month, or currently £10 a month with my retention on a 12 month tariff isnt a good deal? Of course there not going to give me cheap upgrades when they dont make any money off my price plan.
T-mobile already support 3.6 Mbps on their network, their data cards and USB modems run at 3.6 Mbps, and as they say, any mobile device capable of this would do so as well.

k850i's benefits:
-stabile Java (double edged sword)
-better camera
-xenon flash
-battery, battery, battery
n95's benefits:
-everything else, its simply more powerful
Whether or not this utility balance is better for you the consumer, is up to your needs, but it will also come down to an issue of price. If when the 850i comes out, the n95 is of comperable price, I couldn't justify buying the 850i... If its 150-200 bucks cheaper, I think it does what I need for the price...
So we will wait and see. |

Lets see what N95 has and K850 doesnt
Better music player
better browser, even better than Opera
bigger screen
GPS
better video
first of its kind slider design
wifi
EGDE/3G on same model
TV output
dont bother comparing K850 with N95, let us not be that unfair to K850
1) No one has tried the music player on the K850i yet, so you cant say its better.
2) Better browser + bigger screen is irrelevant to users that plug the phone into a PC/laptop for the internet like me. I'd rather have a smaller nicer looking phone.
3) The video on the K850 is QVGA 30 FPS.
4) The K850i has EDGE and 3G on it too.
So I miss out on WIFI and TV output and GPS for £150. Boo hoo. Im 100% sure the K850 will take much better pictures too.
