Hear hear! I'll drink to that! Oh wait it's sunday...no drinks...damn!
Yes this firmware better be good! It's insane not to have a phone that can't even do the most fundamental things, like opening the camera, use any kind of java apps and drains the battery. And what's more insane is that we, in many cases, have to wait for´months to get i fixed!

no problems? lol
Try changing the volume after zooming a pic
Try keeping the EQ settings (Here, it even forgets it after changing song, not only when closing/opening the mediaplayer like the 1st post in this thread suggests)
Im dont mean that my K850i is all working but only the bugs that i mentioned are really anoying me... As you told the Eq issue is really bad too...
I'm on unbranded 037 and my EQ settings are remebered from when I first set them a couple of weeks ago. The phone its totally stable and my only complaints are the sometimes sluggish media interface and camera quaility. |

Hmm, you must be really an exception.
How is the camera quality poor? No phone camera will rival any dedicated digital camera, so take other 5MP phones on the market as a comparison. I think the K850i will be ONE of the best out there. I've personally owned a Nokia N95 8GB, and although it takes pics appealing to the eye, the warped colour reproduction was terrible.
My EQ settings are never remembered... unless I want them at default, they're remembered as default aha. |

What do you mean by the warped colour? I also seen the pics of a N95 the slim one and it looks more colourful than the k850i. thats what photos should be shouldn't it? Good looking...
Yay got myselfa phone on the forumS! oops...not yet.... Yeah I got it!

@shawon
i think they mean that the post processing on the n95 that nokia built in oversaturates the colours beyond what they do actually look like |

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. When I take pictures, I want it to have good colour accuracy. I can post-process it myself easily in photoshop, and of course, say it was taken by the K850i. The N95 just does it for you.
Anyways, I don't want to start a N95 vs. K850i war, but besides that, the colour reproduction on the screen of the N95 is absolutely way off. Compare the K850i to the N95 side by side and you'll appreciate the color temperature that the K850i has. The N95 has a billion more features than the K850i, but I am a picky guy. Got rid of the N95 because the colours were just so bad.

the only problem i have with the camera is the flash issue that everyone has experienced, other than that with the right settings i find the camera very good and great at picking out certain details, there are only a few niggles with it. and firmware will fix this in time.
By the way, on a side note, does anyone know how to get SEUS to work from behind a http proxy? unfortunately my University has a http proxy on all accomodation rooms and this limits what i can access |

Greetings to the community
I already have a k850 with no software problems at all but I am not satifsied with its build quality (creaky sounds, loose battery cover). Its manufacturer date is 07W40.
I have the opportunity to buy a new one at a very affordable price and I want to know if these hardware problems have been resolved in the newest releases. Is it possible to get one with good build quality but with software issues, given the fact that is newer than mine? What would you reccomend me to do?Has anyone had any experience with newer phones? Is the build quality getting any better?
Thanks in advance. |

''How is the camera quality poor?''
When I take photos on mine I find the textures to be one big blur, like if I take a picture of my cat, the fur looks like an orange blur, no detail and the images show a lot of noise. I try all kinds of settings and yes you do get a few 'perfect' shots every now and again but you never 'perfect' shots all the time. I know the hardware is limiting and you can't polish a turd but SE could at least buff it up a little. |

Well I understand what you mean, there are some pictures that I wish the quality can improve on, but it's still a phone camera. There are limitations to CMOS sensors, if you really want to have the best phone camera I would recommend the iMobile 902 or the Sharp 903SH. |

I don't want the best camera phone, I want the best out of the camera on this phone. The fact it takes some good shots shows it has some potential and I think a little fine tuning with the software might make images just that little bit better. |

i totally agree, when i first got my k800 the shots were disapointing but with the firmware releases SE made it into a truly fantastic camera phone which took great pics, i only want them now to do the same to the k850 |
