I posted this because I am sick of hearing that SE sucks, SE are idiots, SE ….. I personally think that 2009 will be great year for SE. Also, I wrote what to expect not what will be released. Remember Paris, BeiBei… Something that is scheduled for Q2 can become Q4 and vice versa. Many factors come into play. Stability, market, economy, competition… And yes, this could be yesterday news but it gives you at least some picture what might happen. WinMob 7 is tested on such a powerful processor because the OS is resource demanding and is not optimized yet. That does not mean that it will be released on that processor. Maybe there will be new processor on the market by that time…. And don’t forget that in the testing phase, the OS is tasted on various hardware platforms. Also maybe some other company, let say HTC, might release new WinMob OS before SE. Nobody knows that. Q4 is relative and is far away from now so anything can happen. No 3.5mm jack beside on Xperia’s devices as far as I know. I am still looking more info on W900 like form factor. It really makes me happy since I know so many ppl that worships that model. I really hope that we see that in 2009.
I catched the most intriguing the part about UIQ.
So they still work on it, plan a new edition and didn't abandon it yet?

I doubt the UIQ device will see the daylight next year. rumors says that SE is already working on SF-based phones. and besides theres no reason to continue developing a functionally-different platform when SF is going to use S60 as baseline platform.

Paris really is beautiful. I'd still buy it right away if it came out. It's closer to what I need than anything else offered by SE. Like an N85 with a touchscreen and QWERTY (well, sorta >D). Think about it, people go on and on about how great the overpriced X1 is- and indeed it is great- but its the sort of device which will complicate your life rather than simplify it (thank you WM 6.1, you powerful yet obnoxious beast). That is where Paris struck the perfect balance between extra functionality and what is actually needed. I suppose there is no point in having Paris now that G900 is out, but the QWERTY, Lens cover and the design would have been most welcome IMO. |

Mate, you're a lucky guy =)
It would be happy, if you can compare Paris (maybe) with the G900 and Beibei.

That new Samsung Propel (from AT&T) looks a suspicious lot like Paris... |

Both were official way before the Paris pics. |

Yes, I do see the resemblance. But, Paris looks way better!

The device yes but the UIQ-Design is terrible (IMO).
Today it has to be more stylish just like the UIQ-touch-Concept.
btw i hope hikaru/hecaro/whatever is thinner than paris

I agree.
A good touch display is whats needed right now and I think UIQ should be up to providing this.
