copy-paste for low-end is okay. What do you expect? New and great features in a low-end-phone? |

Yeah that's true, and the F305 does have an excellent looking design, so I wouldn't be complaining if this one came out.
Don't worry, high ends are on their way soon!

@Zuckabaecka: copy & paste for low-ends is OK? You are funny.
I think every model should have his own specific "soul", including design, sorry.

I talked about the features and not the design and I don't think that this F305-copy will exactly look like the original just with a walkman button....
If you take a look to the other manufactures you will see that every low-end-phone is a copy-paste-thing. |

And i am considering the 5800, because like Eldar said, it is indeed a revolution, at that price, although i consider s60 to be inferior to UIQ, and despite the absence of a keyboard.
@ares, take a look at HTC Touch Pro. I've been using Tytn II for a while now and although the P1 does have a few advantages it's not that difficult to make the switch. The enormous number of software and the ease of customization more than make up for its cons. The only thing I miss on the Tytn II is the FM radio which Touch Pro has.
The concept picture of that "P" series look OK, I could still go back to SE if they can get their act together and give us a device in the spirit of the P900 - though I don't see much chance of that happening.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

well imo the p-series "fight" with the S740 and the X1 with the touch pro.
And the p1i is imo better than the S740 (just the speed of the p1i is a big disadvantage)......like i said IMO

The speed of the P1 is not a real disadvantage in real life. Tytn II with 400 MHz processor gives about the same performance as the P1. Perhaps the biggest advantage P1 has is with HWR, it's so much easier to write on the screen.
SE did have quite a few advantages with UIQ+TS, if they switch to WM or S60 (which seems inevitable) I just don't see what leverage they have over their competitors which are cheaper and have better features.
Just a simple fact of life, how long did we wait for fw updates? I got my Tytn II with WM 6.0 and already have WM 6.1 on it, soon will have WM7 when it becomes available. Instead of copy/pasting new phones SE has to seriously improve its support and the way they view their customers in general.

makil...sorry, windows is just not an option...tried and completely hated it (htc diamond)...unless version 7 is much different, its totally off my desires...
i am seriously considering the 5800 if it does come super cheap as people are saying, of course after testing it a bit (my brother will be an early adopter, so i´ll be able to make a complete test with it)

X1 level high end, or just the-remainder-of-the-portfolio level high end... |

What turns me off from WM is that the interface doesn't have a back or cancel function. Your only options are OK and CLOSE.
I'm also seriously considering 5800 thanks God it's a smartphone so I can install all business apps in it and forget the "comes with music for kids" or what ever.
Unless SE can come up with something early next year but there's no way they can't beat the price of 5800. |

New phone from Sony Ericsson - Yao. Yao is a entry Walkman slider with good desing. Probably, Yao is named W305, becouse it has same specifications as F305: screen 176×220, camera 2.0-Mp, etc. Design is also same as F305. Yao has a high gloss front finish (as the well copied from S302). Yet I don’t have more info about Yao. The new Yao will be available from March, 2009.

Just slightly more info on the Walkman version of F305...

Interesting.
5800 never. It doesn't even have a qwerty. However, it's better than iPhone.
From all those options X1 is strongest. I rather pay more = have more, than pay less = have less. And X1 looks like a complete phone, even if it's WM.
Nokia UI looks terrible, I rather choose WM, as for me.
But that may be good to wait for SFoundation. |
