Front looks alot like the C902.
The lens camera sounds interesting with the Sony T2 digital camera likeness.

So what is this just a update K850/C902 for the most part?
No GPS, no new features, just updated UI...big deal.
Ahh...Pass no thanks. Next time SE, put a little for innovation in your next product :
SE shouldn't be like Nokia and roll out a million phones that are basically the same but differ in minute ways.

We’re guessing Sony Ericsson will make things official about Kate in October along with a few other mid/high-end products.

Hopefully they will have some good things to announce. |

Hmm... I think Kate looks like a mix of C902 and K770i at the front, which is nice enough but from that picture, I can't say I like the back at all yet. However those pictures are awful as usual, so I'll have to wait and see! Damn you Mr. Blurrycam!

Should have had GPS. All Nokia N/E series coming out have GPS. Sony Ericsson is slowly adding this to phone too, but they need it in more phones. If a mid range phones like the Z750i/a, Z780, and C702 have GPS, then this 5MP shooter should have it too.

what really is important here is that they should integrate WiFi. the lack of GPS on "kate" can be compensated with an HGE-100 headset imo. because we have no WiFi accessories for SE.

Kate is the younger twin of Clara imo.

Yes I posted it at the top of the previous page. Because of this it is not hard to see why there are rumours that the next Xperia device might also be a WM device.
According to Smape.com it'll appear at the end of the year, which means its possible we'll see it next announcement.

The coolest phone used a laserbeam keyboard and it apparently worked very good. The second thing they showed was that when typing on screen on phone nr1 one everyting was also on screen on phone nr 2.
They said these products would be on market soon
Has SE gone totally berserk??? What's the point of wasting time with useless features. Portable devices for personal use have no need of such features. SE should concentrate more on getting a decent PIM application on its devices.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

Well, makbil, every maker makes protos and tests them, that's a positive thing.
Each maker has 10 times more devices in labs than they show.
Anyway, it looks WM will be the winner in this race for a while, at least in profi market. And it's good many makers use this platform (HTC, SE, Samsung, Motorola, LG and many others). That means this is widespreaded platform. With the biggest budget.
There are already so many devices on WM 6.1, the platform has grand capabilities and it's evolving.
But I will regeret UIQ for a long time. Actually, even if they will release something more, it will be hard to reproduce these more open, community based trends which generate sales (Apple case, WM). But who knows.

@makbil
I think this is just Bluetooth evolving and I wouldn't say a huge amount of the company's resources would be pinned on developing this one feature.
Plus, I'm sure many people didn't see the benefits of bluetooth when it was installed on early mobile phones. Now its hard to imagine some devices without it. (Japanese devices not counted of course).
