The iPhone is pretty slim. However, I wouldn't mind a slightly thicker version if it meant being able to capture video.
I'm wondering if a higher specced Euro version will appear later on. I'm hoping it does actually.
your going to see 2nd, 3rd and 4th etc generation iphones like they did with the ipod. no point getting a Gen1...
will be interesting to see how they progress tho....

It will be.
It will be interesting to see how a future Sony Ericsson will compare with a 3rd and 4th generation iPhone. Plus, I expect Apple will release iPhones at different price points - possibly an more expensive version.
Reading the reviews, I can't see how this is any threat to SE unless they do release a cheaper version.

I don't waiting for a 2, or later gen iPhone is necessary to enjoy and get value. What is important for me is the first firmware upgrade. This is critical to determine how Apple will see the future of the iPhone. As we can see from SE, they simply decided to stop supporting phones. Customers should stop supporting them by giving them money.

Well, video is more of a processor/software related issue. And seeing how the iPhone ain't no slouch in terms of power, I bet it'd be easy for Apple to offer a software upgrade to video recording.
And a very good review of the phone here. Really analyses the phone in-depth, which other reviews haven't managed to do.

I played with the iPhone recently and i must say its like using my macbook, only on a smaller scale, excellent resolution, and audio quality.
Being in the UK i could not use the phone functions but the wifi works fine and the media player is fine also.
Here are a couple of pics:
slide to unlock is a very nice touch.
too much flash, but its the 8GB model

This was debunked a few days ago in a CNET article.
