Bad luck. Sorry, can't help you on this one.. It really looks like installation does not clean after itself. Might be incomplete. Does SEUS offer downgrade to 37?
If no, get it to SESC for a reflash or wait for a day. They might refresh the server... |

It seems lot of people don't care about it but what about video recording quality? It's not acceptable to have such low video bitrate even at 320*240,it's very pixelised! nokio phones at 320*240 30fps are far better and it's only a matter of FW calibration so don't you hope that SE repair this too in the upcoming big FW?
I don't think my K850i have bad video quality, K800i was a lot worse... Isn't fair compare to Nokias because they have a worse still camera and no flash at all...
I use the R1CA037 firmware but yes i think SE may improve the video quality by a new firmware lets wait until january 20 an see what happens..
I doubt they will improve it and yes, it is quite fair to compare Nokias and SE. Don't want to mention feature differences, but small difference in camera qualities cannot justify BIG difference in video recording and playback. I didn't had problems converting videos for N95. I used same settings for K850i and of no use. Varying speed and offset voice playback... even after quality decrease...
Nokia with no flash? Could be true if you have said it 1 month ago.. Don't get me wrong but having K850i doesn't mean being blind.
It is slow, needs improvements and needs them quickly..

Ok You are talking about the N82... really a good phone. I was comparing with the N95 such an expensive phone with nice video quality but really poor led flash... Really uneceptable... And no i'm not blind... K850i have it issues... for me the most anoying is the speed issue..
What I really don't like about Nokia is its style, the materials that Nokia uses look a little cheap... and cracky, chunky... And the OS Sybian dosen't moves me at all... I think the K850i is slow in media center but the N95 8GB or others Nokias with this Symbian OS 9.2 Series 60 is really all slow...in simple day a day activities..(even the UIQ of the new W960i i dont like) But no further more conversations about that becouse Taste is a matter os personal choice... let's not start a fight of Greeks and Troians alright?? |

Depends where you live You can call yellow pages in your country or whatever you call it and ask for Sony Ericsson Service Center. Good luck with your phone. |

R38 initial look on orange uk
On the plus side.
The camera is faster.
The media player is faster.
Games are a little quicker to load.
There’s a transition effect in the camera album so that when you switch between pictures it zooms out then zooms back in. Looks nice.
There is not a date and time the photo was taken at the top of the photos.
The touch sensitive button text doesn’t disappear as randomly as in R37
On the negative side.
The orange home screen no longer works (memory error)
It took a while to recognise my media for some reason
The large clock (that was really nice I thought) is gone and there’s just the time and date in the bottom corner now in small font.
Is anyone else on orange and has the same issues?

@ vbajma, as I said, do not get me wrong. Maybe it was a bad choice of words. Written word is different than said. No intention to start "post war" either. I admit, both first and N95 8Gb have a bad LED flash. And color balance in auto I do not like. Thou N95 8Gb has a better build quality. One of the things that annoyed me with the first N95 is chassis squeaking.
I'm just getting nervous waiting for the freaking FW update. And from the feedback here also the new one isn't promising. |

38 is not the big update we were waiting for,it's only a FW SE made after the many requests from orange and other network provider, the 20th Jan is the day the interesting FW will come out!
I don't have any bug right now but I hope picture and video quality recording will get a great step forward |

well i am impressed with the speed improvement of 38 over 37. seems strange that theyve disabled some features though |

^^ You do not have problems with the memory full anymore? |

WELL...
it all appears to be well and good but if i flash it and dont reboot then it appears to have an issue. once thats done its fine. There is a significant improvement in the mediaplayer speed which is nice. Basically the bit where it shows names etc. the only problems are it will not show the orange home screen (i never used it but its a bit worrying as it gives the error "the application uses too much memory") and the fact that the large clocks gone.
I woud reccomend it however as the improvements far outweigh the downsides |
