Could be something to do with the X1 live weblog/announcement that should be next week.
That connects to the steel/chrome stuff.
Maybe they'll package a crocodile leather case for it in the box, like the Touch Diamond/Pro case.
Just a guess.
If we evolved from apes, why are there still apes ? |

According to new SE naming strategy the last digit informs about the form factor. 0-2 - candybar, 3-5 - slider, 6-8 - clamshel, 9 - other... We all know about it. One of these profiles below, has "9" as the last digit. What does it mean? How will it look like?

Hmm, sounds like a car or something.
Or something for the T series, they tend to use premium materials.

I don't know why this hasn't been posted as it offers a little bit of new detail:
G705 - On Preview (Part 1) From Cell Phone Sail.
Once again before its announcement time I’ll write about this slider. The G705 or Kumiko.
The front part of G705 utilised glossy material, the screen is under the same piece of plastic as a whole front. The back of the phone is matte plastic while the side of the phone using chrome material which applied to the side buttons (volume roker and camera key) as well. The earpiece place next to video calling camera and light sensor is on another side. There is a Play/Pause key on the top of the phone doubled as shorcut to access last played track from music player. The 3.2 Mega Pixel camera is on the back with LED Photo Light and Video Red Light on both sides of the camera lens. The fast port is place at the very top of right side of the phone and there’s a M2 logo on the same side. The way of open the battery cover is interesting, there is a switch place at the bottom part of the phone to lock the cover. Under the cover is femiliar BST-33 battery and on the side you’ll M2 slot (yes, you have to remove the battery cover before do anything with the card). The mouthpiece is on the left of the keyboard. Typing on G705 is not too bad with good size buttons and well distinguished between them (the keyboard using different approach from C905 and F305). When you slide the phone up, you’ll notice the resemblance pattern of the speaker at the back of slide up part of the phone in matte material.
and here are some stuffs about G705 that I didn’t cover last time
* Light Sensor
* HSUPA (with secondary camera for video calling only)
* UMA Support
The bit that caught my attention is the UMA support, which may mean that you can't use WiFi for internet browsing, but just mobile calls over the internet.
Also, the HSUPA is something I hadn't heard the G705 had.
