I like the W910i's colour scheme. It looks cool. The K770i reminds me of those pink digital cameras that every teenage girl seems to have. I suppose it will appeal...
Cheers for the images!

Sigh
I don't know about SE anymore. If you look at the INNOV8, look at the beast of a phone you get for your money, I really really like it, and it almost makes me not care that it hasn't got a touchscreen. Photos nearly as good as a DSC, smile shutter, face detection, blink detection, dual LED flash, mechanical shutter, 8 Mpx, VGA recording at 30fps, vast amount of memory, stable OS, nice screen, accelerometer, wifi, dlna, HSDPA, music playing, great video playback capabilities (even divx), 3.5mm jack, TV out, SD expandable memory, metallic body, full web browsing, with flash playback, optical touchpad, Good design, good battery life, there's little else to ask for, its a powerhouse. It hasn't got a touchscreen, but its got everything else. The absolute only thing I actually dislike about it, is that Samsung made it instead of SE. Its sad but I cant see SE catching up with that any time soon. It really puts the C905 to shame, in many ways.
X1 is beaten to market by HTC Touch Diamond and Samsung i9000 Omnia, so the battle for WM is largely lost. Each of these devices match X1 in many ways, even beating it in some respects (e.g. diamond- nicer UI, Opera Mobile 9.5- also nice design, accelerometer, omnia- better camera, similar sort of UI, accelerometer). Besides, X1 seems to have software bugs anyway. Only thing going for it really is brand loyalty and the keyboard.
C905 is beaten by the INNOV8, and will be late to market. Nokia will apparently have another 8Mpx device to compete, so C905 is fighting a losing battle too.
G900 is the best smartphone they have on offer now. It doesnt stand a ghost of a chance against S60 solutions (again, the INNOV8, even the N95 beats it in many ways, N96 will do the same).
So to me, the only category in which SE really shine brighter than all the others is music. Great phones, great accessories, good range. W980 won an award, and rightly so, its a prime example of something SE has done right. Even the low-end Walkman phones do the job well, I think.
Its a shame that SE have lost their innovation, and dont have any standardisation in their models (why is it so hard to implement the miniUSB and 3.5mm jack, like everyone else is doing?) Now they expect me to either get the X1 (too pricey for something with an OS which is soon to be replaced IMO) or wait 'till symbian foundation comes out. Problem is I want a smartphone now...
SE seems to be becoming a jack of all trades, but master of none, not a leader but a follower. All this repetition in their portfolio, but still there is so much left to be desired...

Well the C905 is in the same category as the K750i and K800i. Of course it will never be the 'jack of all trades' device that the Innov8 is, it wasn't designed to be, however, about 4 weeks after it is released I bet you will be able to pick up a C905 for 200 - 230 Euros.
I don't understand why people are comparing SE's 8.0MP snapper to the INN0V8 because they are in completely different categories and I reckon the C905 will OUTSELL the INNOV8 by about 10 / 1. It's a great little device.
Anyway, I've been a way for 5 days and have come catching up to do.

No way, at least not here. That would be a drop by 61%. 400-450 (and therefore twice your price) is realistic. |

As goldenface said, The C905 from SE and the Samsung INNOV8 are in totally different categories. In my opinion the C905 will be the best non-Smartphone on the market, while the INNOV8 will become the best Smartphone on the market, something like how the N95 was when it was released, from my point of view Nokia would better trash the N96, same thing as N95 only with a fresh design and DVB-H tv support, as it is already surpassed by many other phones and would not be the hit that Nokia probably expect it to be.
Although all that, I still think that SE should really invest in developing better smartphones , they are really losing a big marketshare which is only growing and growing as smartphones become more and more cheaper and easier to use. |

@xell
It won't be long before the C905 price drops somewhat, however, people are underestimating the C905. Its a very capable feature phone with an awful lot going for it, WiFi and GPS in a feature phone is almost unheard of.
I'm hoping anyway that the price comes down and I'm positive it will do. In fact I'd be really surprised if one couldn't be found for 250 EUR.
Anyway, back OT, I'm trying to get more info on the Sept announcement.

, Reserve me one

Im sorry to say that u could not understand this simple theory. Both are 8mp camera phones in average user eyes, With a difference of some 100 or so euros between them.Anyone would compare a product to other product before buying one
and I reckon the C905 will OUTSELL the INNOV8 by about 10 / 1. It's a great little device.
This looks like Fanboyish comment, u must have some understanding of market. What did u base ur comment on.Please elaborate
If u have noticed protoype pictures of C905, while the pictures are of Average quality they are not satisfactory.I mean they are not noise free and so on .If u have noticed Gsmarena/Mr photoshoot of Innov8 tWhich looks impressive straight out of box.Which means no waiting of firmware and so on.
We all expected much awaited K850 to be stunner, But too many people had problems with it.Se has always problem releasing less bug free device combined with delayed firmware could cause serious damage to SE C905 sales, if the pictures are not impressive or on par with other 8mpx cam.It could be completely different story.U should consider C905 main Point of sale aspect is 8MP cam, Which means it should provide outstanding image quality compared to other 8mp phones, where 8mp is one of features in the huge list spec sheet like vga recording, symbain os, 3.5mm etc......

Hi and welcome to the rumours thread. Interesting that you should pop your head up when you think some 'fanboyism' is going on.
The C905 will drop in price, no doubt about it. The current flagship Cyber-shot is the C902. You can pick one of those up for 200EUR. This quarter will be a rough one for SE but the C905 is a stunner and if you think thats a 'fanboy' point of view thats OK.
The C905 will be a winner, just my opinion.

Well, my point is that C905 is a dedicated cameraphone, above all else. INNOV8 is a smartphone multifunction device, above all else. But the INNOV8 outshoots the C905. In the Video department, without question, the Samsung wins. As regards stills, the INNOV8 has been compared to Canon DSC's and there isnt much difference. The C905 isn't quite as good, purple tint aside (which by the way still looks like a problem). INNOV8 is, to me, without question the best smartphone to date. It is also the best cameraphone to date. That second title should go to the C905, but it doesn't. |

Btw, prototype pics of the C905 are brilliant.SE have never been good with prototype samples. And since the C905 performs so well for a prototype, i would think it will rock when it releases.the pics shot by SMAPE were great and the innov8 pics are in the same league.I really dont notice any difference, nor will you unless you measure them side by side. |

I'm still not convinced the INNOV8 is the phone to die for.
I think the C905 will be the 'most wanted', this time around, and shows SE back on form and gunning for Samsung's grip on the slider market, but hey, its early days yet so who knows.

Well reading your posts your missing the obvious. The Inov8 is nice but also bigger, Jo Public will pick it up and immediately start prodding the screen only for the sales man to tell you no you have to pull the slider out thus making it even bigger. The sales man will tell you it's a smart phone ad Jo Public will go "You What?" Hence they will look at the smaller and far easier to use and just as feature packed SE. The cameras will be the main selling point for these phones, so people will simply choose the SE because it WILL be easier for them to use and smaller. That's all 90% of phone users will care about.
This is why comparing the 2 just because they have the same camera will never work, Samsung are going after the market where people want a smart phone with everything and will accept the large size. I think the C905 will outsell the Samsung because of the market it's after. |
