Some of you guys have way too low expectations. Most of the smartphone users I know do install more applications to their phones, once they are made aware of the capability.
I know I am a minority user but I'm not going to change my views because the majority think otherwise. The mobile device of our time period can't replace a notebook but it is very capable of providing short term solutions as well as managing our personal information.
I really have trouble calling the iPhone a smartphone, imagine a smartphone that does not have the copy/paste function.
Hopefully Mr. "K" can turn things around and SE will come up with a true P990 successor next year.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD

Ofcourse. The list would go on, as per the user's demands, n thats y se needs to have more(most) of their phones as smart phones.

But yeah, se's feature phones with 2.4" are adequate. But next year onwards they should go for bigger screen.

Well unless SE make phones with complete touch control like the iPhone then they should keep the screens at 2.4 or smaller. Otherwise the phones will be far to big especially if their only feature phones and not smart ones.

you know what i find funny, is that tigershark42 and i share some philosophies ... and with that said, i find that Samsung with its i8510 (innov8) has attempted to do what weve asked for in a feature fone, which is HAVE FEATURES!

what amazes me is the ardent defense by those who wish to force me out by saying go abandon the company that has provided more than any other. which i wont however i will be more harsh as i expect more from a once prominent leader in the mobile handheld market.

its simply amazing that the C905 and the i8510 share many things, except the details which make the samsung stand out ...

stereo speakers, vga recording (+120 fps QVGA) a suitable browser ... just the small details that will come up in comparisons. i need a successor to my k850 that is without question.

what remains to be seen is whether the C905 can compete with the i8510 or vice versa (jack of all trades master of none ... !) so i will probably get both to see for myself.

my tastes have changed since last year and i can see myself moving on to HTC because SE f**k!n refuses to release a competent business/entertainment phone. it seems to me that the new leadership has the right idea ... lets hope they can move forward and create some of the best we expect to see. its sad that sony has this burden to carry because of non forward thinking paranoid leadership ... that became a self fulfulling prophecy.

i want an SE phone that throws caution to the wind and well innovates, too bad it came from Samsung ... sad day indeed.

I wouldn't consider INNOV8 to be a feature phone... it has Symbian.

Good, SE is doing something to improve their phones. But, i wish they are working on the next gen hardware because there is no point adding more features if the hardware cant deliver.

But why would they add more features if the hardware cannot deliver. They add feature/s according to the efficiency of hardware.

That's because i've already experienced it with p990. It had all the features anybody could think of at that time but the hardware just didn't deliver. Lack of RAM made multitasking impossible. Processor was too weak to handle bigger images, pdf files, word documents above 1 mb and high quality videos. Nokia's current hardware handles all this with ease while SE still struggles as the hardware hasn't changed in the past 2 years. For eg, Adding 16m colours increases the load on the processor. While nokia and samsung are aiming for hd videos next year, SE finally goes to vga. At present, only xperia is the phone from SE that truely has all the power in its hood. So, i wish for more phones on x1's hardware or better as anything weaker simply wont deliver.

Is the Bravia a touch screen?
All other features aside, I wouldn't settle for any screen size smaller than 2.8" on a smart phone. I hope that SE can get back to at least P990's screen size.
