Not really, now that SE is incorporating WIfi and Gps into their feature phones the word smartphone will be a myth. Now only if they put in a document and a pdf reader. There are hardly many people out there who actually install symbian many applications in their phone.Maybe 1%.
1%?
Make that 4.

Yeh, screw smartphones. But wait, applestore and iphone is a pretty great success, and people want smartphones. It gives people the chance to choose wich pdf, gps and webbrowser they want to use. |

Some simple apps installed on feature phones don't make them smartphones, what a bullsh..t.
It's also about RAM, display, qwerty etc. I should be fcuking mad to actually WORK on K850 for instance!
And it goes other way - until smartphones apps will not offer real usability and full, uncompromised potential, only some people will use it.
But once they'll achieve the high level, more people will use it definately. |

iPhone isn't a smartphone. It's a "normal" mobilephone. ;) It was said by Steve Jobs himself... so trust him =)

Haha, you made me laugh!
I'd never call stupid iPhone as a smatphone!
And Steve Jobs is the last person I'd trust in my life.
I was referring to some posts above, speaking in general about feature phones.

RAm?? SE phones are not fast enough. For me it is.Thanx.
Display.SE has the best displays in the market. I dunno waht you are taking about.
Qwerty-Look for the X1,E90 or HTC.
The apps mainly used in smartphones.Document viewer and editor.Core player for playing avi files. I dont see many people using anything more. If SE can incorporate document and avi support to its files.Welll. |

Well in my country people buying a nokia dont buy it looking at it as symbian or smartphone. Infact 99% of people dont know what is symbian. They dont even know that they can download something called applications. People are only intrested in games wallpapers and ringtones.
Hell is empty, All the devils are here. K750>W800>W810>W850>J100>P900>K790>M600>K800>W880>K810>W580>K850>W890>C902. |

In Eldar's article about the C905, he mentions a 10MP phone for next summer and also says that it should be good. If so, what is the point of the C905? The C905 could have been a good test for if they did a UIQ version, then make the 10MP phone their flagship. The W960 is excellent as a smartphone as well as a Walkman so why not give it a shot for the Cybershot? If Hicaru gets an 8MP camera, the C905 loses it selling point right. Hicaru could be a tubby bas*ard if it does indeed have an 8MP camera. |

A smart phone is one where you can install apps onto it. It uses a more advanced OS. That's about it, feature phones are the same otherwise, but no phone can substitute a laptop.
In regards to the G900 being copy and paste. I should of said the W960? It's the same but smaller with some improvements. Although I believe the CPU is slightly different in the G900, all the other changes make it a much better phone, unless you want QWERTY that is.
And if the iPhone is 'Normal' why did Jobs compare sales figures specifically against the Blackberry when he launched the 3G model? He's an idiot sometimes.
I don't care though as I shall keep my G900 for a long time. |

The C905 is SE's imaging flagship for 2008. If and when they release Hecaro, sure, it'll have an 8MP cam. but it'll lack many of the camera-oriented features the C905 has (Face detection, xenon flash etc.).
As for the 10MP phone - well, that'll be next year's flagship.

Maybe I was not clear enough: I didn't refer to SE vs other makers,
but generally smartphones vs feature phones, OK?
So yes, SE has great displays.
But no, speed it's not RAM only. It's processor.

Why is that? Did the 2.0mp cam on P990i stop people from buying the K750i?
The C905 is an imaging flagship, not the company flagship. Yes a lot has been made of its 8.0MP cam but really its just following in the footsteps of the K750i, K800i and K850i, which are really not the most expensive phones SE produces.
