Since when did walkman "phones" are about a 3.5 mm jack. IMO, walkman "phones" should provide consumer with a clear audio experience. and i am very sure that SE walkman brands are up2 the challenge (although i havnt used one but some of the members here can confirm that). if i am not wrong (all the walkman users, please do correct me if i am) SE headphones combined with the dedicated SE walkman phones take the audio experience to an entirely new level
now lets talk abt dedicated keys, well all the recently announced walkman phones have dedicated keys (e.g w902, w595, w302, w760, w890 and not to 4get w980 and the list goes on and on)
VV my point exactly moogoo .. tyvm

seriously people. if you're unhappy with what's SE's producing then show your disappointment by not purchasing the product. It's that simple.
Everyone complains why not 3.5mm jack? why no sound chip? why no 3D accelerator chip? blah blah blah... why?
because the fast port has many more functions than a 3.5mm jack, including being easily converted to a 3.5mm jack if needed. Because an additional dedicated sound chip or 3D chip would use up lots of battery power. In addition, even without these extra chips, SE is able to produce high quality music and imaging devices that rival or exceed those with independent sound and graphics chips and use a fraction of the battery power, which for a phone is most important. A phone with all those "must have features" that won't even turn on when you need it, is imo, useless.
Sure SE could work more on the video recording front, but for what they can do as with the speed and quality of their phones without having extra processing power which would use more battery life, i think it pretty great.
I am personally waiting for an all round device, such as Hicaro or the true w960 successor. Whenever this device will come, i will look forward to it because I love SE for few but very important reasons... great UI design, ease of use, beautiful screens and fantastic battery life. These are factors that SE has rarely failed in.

There is no point comparing C905 with N95. Even why we need to compare 2yr old n95 with recent C905.C905 leads only in camera. even in video recording it lags keep in mind its 8mp sensor. Thats wy we are blaming SE.
Really n95 is a decent phone with all features packed.
C905 beats a 2yr old N95 and a Six months old N95b, features and specs wise.
In SE the strategic goals are bad. Even though a phone pronunced as walkman it never have a dedicated music keys 3.5mm jack.audio chip.stereo speakers.
Apart from the 3.5mm jack, you are kidding. I love SE's fast port, I have got no problem with that which I can use it as a 3.5mm jack all the time. But what if you are listening to music on your phone having a 3.5mm jack and a call comes? Atleast it annoys me on my N95b alot. alot.
Likewise even though its a cybershot it will never have a good video recording. These things have to be changed.already we have a thread from Samsung innova. Still Nokia and LG is out there.! I can't imagine the video recording in LG 8mpx mobile. The devices introduced by SE are obsolete. I think i am talking about what already spoken 100+ times.
I don't know about Samsung or LGs and I have never owned one, and I wouldn't. What Nokia have got in their upcoming N96 apart from 16GB of memory? I am going to skip N96 and would love to see the competition now as Nokia I guess have ran out of Ideas at the moment.
I am sure you yourself is a SE fanboy like me and you are pissed of by SE recently and me as well. But keep faith SE is heading towards the right direction now and they wouldn't disappoint us in the near future with the release of C905 and W902 and you will see the announcement of a smart phone very soon.
Just cheer up and take it easy and enjoy whatever you have at the moment. |

moogoo makes a good point. I'm waiting for the W960 successor as well, more so than Hicaru but I love the JavaOne phone. All I ask for is UIQ on a touchscreen device, the G700/G900 are excellent phones but since we have seen Beibei with UIQ 3.3; i'll wait a bit longer to see what develops.
The expectations are too high i.e. how many phones can they release? The mid end phones are good and I played with the W980 which is lovely; that will be a guaranteed hit.
Christmas is the most important time for everyone because sales always go up so will have their best stuff ready for Christmas. This thread will stay alive as long as there are leaks so keep it coming. The phones will come for sure. |

@ Mizzle
Here we go again.......
If Thursday is an announcement, someone can give so dodgy pics to get interested. If not, give us a bit of info please Mizzle. You never explained the significance of your 'old man' picture. Is it related to Thursday at all?
Thanking you in advance for the pics that you will leak today. |

leak or no leak, it's exciting to know that there will be something coming Thursday. It seems from Mizzle's comment that Thursday's announcement will have something to do with a UIQ touchscreen device. Perhaps the JavaOne device? perhaps Hicaro? Either way, it seems Thursday will be an important day in an SE fanboy's life.
@mizzle...
regarding the old man picture. It seems to me there are two interpretations. (1), things may not be what they seem, and (2) old man is moving on to something new after sticking with the old gal for so long.
These interpretations can be applied several ways, I think that (1) all the hype with the greatness of hicaro and w960 successor is all a hoax, (2) all the disappointing reviews/previews by those in the know are false and the high-end phones to come are fantastic (3) SE is moving on to a new hardware platform from the old ARM9 one.. (old lady to new cyber-girl).
Am I correct at all? or totally off? heh. yes or no will suffice.

LOL! You really don't know what you're talking about.
N95 is a smartphone with bigger screen and 30fps VGA recording!
The 2yr old N95 is far superior than C905 in all department except it's 3megapixel short.
But Hikaru may change that.. I hope.. |

True, and you couldn't expect it to compete with the N95 either. For starters its a feature phone. Its not even close to a smartphone.
