Whilst it was a silly way to put that info it is true though that the N82 does trump pretty much any SE phone hands down on features and performance.

@Mizzle
I don't know if you missed it but Mib said that SE don't have and not that every other manufacturer doesn't. So could you clarify if you realise that or not?
Before i list what i think is missing in SE devices and if not you can tell me which SE devices has them then as i think many of those features are indeed missing in SE devices.
Marc

@mr_lou
It appears we also have different definitions as to what a fanboy is. To me it's someone who sticks to the brand and defends it no matter what. I did not stick with SE. I bought the N82. I do not defend SE. I complain about their lacks.
Sorry. I dont buy it. For someone who makes a big deal over for non-inclusion of smileys, no java volume control and cannot play music by folder (btw: who use this anyway) and brush aside all the great stuff of N82 and have this to say:-
will have to recommend people to stick with their Sony Ericsson phone, despite the stupid decisions Sony Ericsson makes. It just doesn't get any better than what Sony Ericsson offers.
But I can't ignore facts, and facts are that SE has been failing which is why I tried the N82, and fact is that N82 is a crap phone compared to SE phones in general, and definitely compared to C905 I'm sure.
eventhough C905 is not even out yet. . So yeah in my book you are definitely a diehard SE fanboy. May I suggest that you get rid of your N82 instead of having it prick your eyes everyday you see it. Get the K850 instead. It is one hell of a phone that suits you and should keep you contented until your next jesus phone C905 comes along. |

I didn't miss a thing, I was simply showing that he was wrong in, say, 80% of his statements of features SE don't have.
... and before I list what's missing in Nokia devices, I'm going to leave. It'll be too much work writing it all up. But please - do write what SE is missing. At least that'll keep you occupied. |

If you have nothing longer than "true" / "false" then dont say it since you are getting them all wrong as well.
-N82 Video recording is excellent with over 4X more pixels than than what SE can offer. false
The last I calculate QVGA (which the C905 can do) is exactly 1/4 the pixels count of VGA. So yeah, pls do your own homework before telling others.

This thread is just a Nokia v SE fanboy slug out. You should all grow up. They are all good phones in their own right. Just get whats right for you and leave it that. But just make sure its not SE UIQ. lol

mib,
Tell me what I was wrong about then. I'd be happy to prove you wrong... again.
with over 4X more pixels than than what SE can offer
That statement in itself is wrong, as VGA is exactly four times larger than QVGA. Anyway, you didn't mention anything about this being about C905 in particular. The X1 does record videos in VGA, in case you didn't know.
(and now Marc is going to say "oh yeah, but it's only 15 fps, which sucks, SE sucks")

Mizzle at the end of the day the C05 still only records at QVGA 30fps and the N82 at VGA 30fps.
Wichever way you look at it the N82 is still better in that sense.

Where did it say C905 only? He said what SE has to offer. Unless I'm wrong, which I'm not, that doesn't exclude everything apart from the C905.

Hi Mizzle,
So hear we go again and lets see just how inaccurate your claims are shall we.
As you claim
"N82 Video recording is excellent with over 4X more pixels than than what SE can offer. false"
OK so please show which released SE phone can record Video in VGA 30fps H.264? answer is none isn't it?
"N82 has a standard mini-usb port compared to proprietary port on SE false"
So which released SE Phone has this connection then and not a propriety fastport?
"N82 has a much faster processor incl better graphic chip allowing for running of complex app (like web browser) at good response level. And N82 built-in safari browser is one of the best. false"
Again which released SE phone has 330mhz processor and the PowerVR MBX graphics with it's excellent H.264 abilities for both recording and playing Video?
Most reviewers acknowledge that the Safari based browser in Nokia's is easily one of the best if not the best. It is easily better than the Netfront Browser or Opera 8.65 as found in SE's phones.
"N82 has stereo speakers. Good for showing/watching video with your friends. false "
So which SE has better then them? rather then just saying false.
"N82 has TV-out port. This means you can show your glorious photo/video immediately on the tv. false"
Again which released SE phone has this ability then?
"SIP support for voip. false"
Really which SE phone has sip support out of the box then?
" uPnP support where you can stream media to/from pc. false"
Again please tell me which released SE phone has this then?
"user data preservation when you upgrade firmware without going thru tedious data restoration. false"
So which released SE phone has this then?
"Better included accesories like tv-out cable. SE requires you to pay for it. false "
Well seeing as SE don't have a phone with TV out yet they can't have but when they do they will make you pay for it won't they?
So rather than your glib false answers how about you give models to prove your point should be simple really shouldn't it?
Now that's it I'm done with these stupid debates that SE fan boys just can't see or accept the truth in ever.
SE was once a great company and led the way in innovation but unfortunately that is just no longer true. That is not just MO but that of all those that have now left SE for other manufacturers and is proved by SE's fall to number 5. Or is that really a sign of just how great there products are somehow i don't think so. I think that is the market speaking and showing exactly what they think of SE'S products.
Marc

Doesnt the C905 have tv out? Even still as Marc pointed out, SE are way of the pace and have been for some time. Its snowballed and the mess with Paris and BeiBei are a result of it.

OK so please show which released SE phone can record Video in VGA 30fps H.264? answer is none isn't it?
None, but that wasn't the statement. The statement was about VGA videos, and X1 does support VGA video recordings.
"N82 has a standard mini-usb port compared to proprietary port on SE false"
So which released SE Phone has this connection then and not a propriety fastport?
None released, but yet again, that wasn't what the statement was about.

X1's CPU is faster than any of Nokia's 330 MHz offerings. Also, the statement had nothing to do with what browser is the best, it had to do with "running a complex app".
"N82 has stereo speakers. Good for showing/watching video with your friends. false "
So which SE has better then them? rather then just saying false.
The statement was - once again - not about quality, but saying that no other SE phones has stereo speakers.
"N82 has TV-out port. This means you can show your glorious photo/video immediately on the tv. false"
Again which released SE phone has this ability then?
None released, yet again, not the statement.
"SIP support for voip. false"
Really which SE phone has sip support out of the box then?
C905.
" uPnP support where you can stream media to/from pc. false"
Again please tell me which released SE phone has this then?
Sorry, didn't see it said uPnP. Anyway, C905 supports DLNA - like N95 8GB and alike - which is just about the same thing.
"user data preservation when you upgrade firmware without going thru tedious data restoration. false"
So which released SE phone has this then?
ALL feature phones.
"Better included accesories like tv-out cable. SE requires you to pay for it. false "
Well seeing as SE don't have a phone with TV out yet they can't have but when they do they will make you pay for it won't they?
He said "LIKE TV-OUT"..
Now that's it I'm done with these stupid debates that SE fan boys just can't see or accept the truth in ever.
FINALLY I'll be free of your pathetic rantings and useless posts. |

I see. So now you're also calling me a liar. It's somehow amusing in a little bit scary kinda way, how you just refuse to receive any input from anyone whatsoever. Anyway, it doesn't matter to me what you call me, so call me a fanboy if you like (although I'm pretty sure I'm not welcome in the club).
I think I have given many good and detailed personal reasons for my arguments and decisions, based on real experience after having spent money on and time with a Nokia N82. I fail to see any value at all in your points, because you're partly contradicting yourself, partly wrong in your statements, and many things you see as advantages about the N82 are big annoying disadvantages to me.
But have no doubt, I will share my opinion about the C905, no matter how it turns out. |
