Nokia's Series 40 phones are comparable in stability to SE's K and T series phones.

But not in features IMO. Still no ability to multitask java for example, which is more important than the 'active standby'.

I find it more cluttered (menu organisation) as well compared to SE.

Are these smartphones? What is wrong with you dude? Are you trying to appear as clueless as you seem or is this just for show? Either way, you are very good at it. I am completely convinced you don't know anything. Great job.

As for bugs. Ever hear of the M600i?

BTW, Steve Litchfield at allaboutsymbian.com doesn't seem to be 100 percent happy with his N95. Lots of bugs and even the latest version 12 fixes some but adds a few more. Hmmm... sounds a lot like most people's experience with the P990, doesn't it? Tricky things, these smartphones, aren't they?

Read the article. Seems the only bugs mentioned are the "key press issue", and the rouge processor issue (not new). Funny how you failed to mention the things he did like. Hmmmm......Biased in your reporting? Anyway, when I said support I mean the following: Every Nokia phone works with my Mac. Can sync all data. Can SE claim this? Survey says: NO! SE limits itself right there. Show me an SE phone with 802.11G. Only recently did they (one phone if I am correct) has HSDPA. Hmmmm..... Nokia has had this for a while. Nokia supports OTA and NSU upgrades for all of their phones that I know of. Please point which NSU does not support.Bottom line, the N95 has problems just as any smartphone but Nokia releases upgrades timely to fix them. SE can not say the same.

Where can Java multi-task? Are you talking about JP8? If memory serves. Dogmann debunked this when it was brought up in an earlier thread. Java will never replace a true multi-tasking OS. Take away the OS and what will Java run on?

@plankgatan

Really are sure no other SE have phones problems so what about all those K800's that had a red flashing light and were dead and had to have there EROMS re flashed then? Maybe you should also check even this Forum about how many phones suffer the WSOD that SE are famous for then, you really do have very selective knowledge to support your beliefs don't you? and don't let little things like facts get in the way.

I think the reason plankgatan is posting so much is he is sad and he is desperate to rack up 500 posts so will post and say anything to try and achieve this quickly as at least that would explain his absurd ramblings.

Of course the N series devices are likely to suffer slightly more problem as after all they are smartphones running a whole OS with far greater functionality and are much more complicated so there is more to go wrong. But at least Nokia fix things quickly not waiting two months at time to release firmware fixes.

So how come these SE dumb phones suffer so many problems then? as they are dumb phones they shouldn't have any problems at all should they i would think that is slightly more worrying. I mean if they can't get dumb phones right what chance do they have with a smart phone.

Just for your information it's not just the P990 it has been all the UIQ3 devices. As you seem to think the N95 i so bad along with the other N series devices i suggest you read the hundreds of pages of problems that have been and still are suffered by UIQ3 devices that dwarf the few complaints with the N series devices that also sold in far greater numbers into insignificance.

Actually Plankxxx

You are a bit incorrect. I complain about Nokia too, as well as SE. The difference is that I do not make up statements and post them as facts. This is something you do often. As I have said before, I have held the P1. It is a nice looking phone but for me, it does not have that wow factor. See, unlike you, I am loyal only to the money I spend for a phone. If it works, then I buy it. For me, money is no object, so I can buy any phone I want, however I choose to buy Nokia now. Not because it is better than SE but because I get more value for the money.

Not biased. This is from the article:
So, reluctantly, for the third time I've had to set the N95 aside, yet again for an Eseries device(!), this time the E61i.

My point was simply that both Nokia as SE have their head-aches with bugs in smartphone firmware. I had similar problems also with the two WM5 phones I owned before (i-mate's JAMin and JasJam). Smartphones have more complex firmware and with complexity comes bugs. That's just a fact of life. Having said that, this will not stop me from trading my P990 for the E90 when the price have dropped a bit.

@abubasim

I concur 1000000000000000000000000% I like the E90 but can not find a reason to buy it. I have an E61 that I got in Kuwait with the Arabic keyboard. Kind of unique, so I keep this. It is also relaible. Never once failed me. I am sure Nokia will sort the problems with the N95 in the next release though.

Well if you stopped posting rubbish we wouldn't have the need to correct your inaccurate ramblings. Also this is not your Forum so just who do you think you are to tell anyone what to do and unnecessary swearing is likely to get you banned as that is not acceptable behaviour on this Forum.

What you mean is that you are frustrated that your lies and slagging Nokia off don't go unchallenged as you actually don't have anything to back up your claims. Plus of course we keep on upsetting you by telling you the truth about your beloved SE. Resorting to insults and swearing shows just how devoid your intellect really is.

Anyone know a good place for Nokia forums? I know Esato is -centric. Where would the average Nokia owner go and discuss their stuff?

@AbuBasim

Well there is My Symbian that has a large S60 section as well as an UIQ section as does All About Symbian and Symbian Freak. Then of course there is WOM a Nokia sponsored Forum with different section for all the different devices. Howard Forums also has a large S60 section as does Mobile Review. There are others that i just can't think of just now.
