all released FW for K600 as long as it's CDA EU/EMEA have multichar. contacts search, as far as i know.

* on another note, for the W800/K750, all FW irregardless of localisation (EU/EMEA/CHINA/APAC/etc) have multichar contacts search, i think . . . i was only able to confirm the R1A APAC one but ive heard from the others that even the CHINA firmware have MCS as well

The upcoming K610 will have more functions with the new firmware and will be more finely-tuned than what you have in the K600 right now (a notch higher than that of the W550/W900's, which is already steps ahead of the FW revision in the K750/W800/K600), a better camera, and expandable memory. I suggest you look at another mid-market phone if you really need to get one right now and wait for the K610 instead if youre inent on jumping at 3G. K610 comes out Q2/2006

k600i looks really good.. compared to k608i, but k608i has better keypad...

and k608i is flooding here... but the color is silverish-white.. it looks aweful.

k608i from hk and aus have better color... silver but it has customized software w/ cid37 [addsig]

oh i c...

and can it do custom sms alerts like K750? unlike k700?

but guys the k600 is really a bit costlier than the k700i and not so costly as the k750 .. plus you get a 1.3 mp cam too.. no mem card sad.. but still i think its a great VFM phone... so are you guys seriously saying to lay off the k600i i can go for the k750i but that would be stretching out a bit more and may hurt my financials.... is it that worth it...

The k608 branding, just curious because there are firmware files available. Would it be possible to debrand with them. Several available on that pappfer place. Have a read of the flashing for daredevils thread over in software.

I am sure the K608i is operator specific, mainly 3.

The K600i is the generic handset.

i have a problem with my k600i;
- the sound in the speakerphone, suddenly goes lower!
- the ringing tone and message alert tone is absent if the earphone is jacked! but during call or answering the call, the earphone works ok.

i think its has something to do with the FW, but i can't find any FW even if its older where i can use to change my present FW. CRAPS!!!

is there anybody here who could help me?

thanks

Yes it has the same issues as the k600 and k608, firmware upgrade may solve it.
