Just to make this completely clear, you can't 'blame' O2 for this, the whole deposit thing is unique to each invididual and their credit score/rating.
Clearly the original poster has bad credit, hence the deposit.
And in reflection to this, MissUK has probably got better credit, hence no deposit.
This topic is 3 years old! I don't think he's listening anymore
Oh I just saw the dates darmit why can't old topics be deleted from 3 or more years ago
btw I like to think ive got good credit rating,
I don't get any mail anymore since ive moved out which is good and bad

My credit rating is poor but i dont care i dont get anything on credit no more. I no longer have any debts though now i take the attitude if i cant afford it i cant have it. Simple. I save for it. Last time i tried for a contract on O2 couple of years ago they asked me for £150 deposit. I said no and never bothered again and wont again either. Though it was fair enough that O2 wanted a deposit who am i to argue with them. |

Bono have you gone to other networks and tried to get a contract with them?

its all good trying other networks but people have to watch out that each time you go through a mobile application they do a search on your credit file and the more the searches the more it does not look good on your credit history n the more likely chance people wont give you contracts, unless you don't care about it lol.

Well, if you get declined on one credit check system, the only option you've got really is to try another, so you'd have nothing to lose really

Vodafones credit check didn't take long she asked me what my previous address was and from that info I was accepted immediatley,
I was concerned over this cos I had moved out
ive recieved credit cards on some what having a agency job too
Catalogues are really a good way to get good credit ive said this alot on this forum before!
so if anyone wants good credit go for one and keep up payments!
