@Ruvjet:
It crashed the OS when you were playing?
It has polyphonic ringtones?
It has vibrate function?
Thanks a lot,

If you wat to see how big (or small) it is, take a look at this picture. It shows two people playing with the P800. Looks like it's a bit smaller than a Pocket PC, and a bit thicker than a Palm.

Ruvjet, just a quick thank you for answering my queries. It really helps in making my decision whether to buy the P800 or not. Will continue to check this thread for any updates you might have. thanks again. |

The first thing I did was try out the camera. I took a few pics got a feel for it, then out came out of the camera function. When it went back to the main menu, It froze. Then the sales assistant took it off me, and I didn't wait around for him to reboot it.
On the Geman message board www.telefon-treff.de someone has confirmed it has vibrate. And I think I read in the White paper that it has 16 poly ringtones. |

Just went to check it out in Oxford St myself. Seems like a good size to me - in some ways better than the 7650 because of the more rounded edges. The sales assistant said that it's probably likely to be late rather than early October, but I reserved one anyway. He said that they would be the first Carphone Warehouse store to get them in. According to him, it's the biggest mobile phone store in Europe - it just opened on Friday.
I didn't get to play with the phone unfortunately, but the assistant showed a few things on it. He managed to crash it my ejecting the Duo stick while it was in the middle of something. Handwriting recognition seemed good, and the screen was actually a bit better than I'd imagined - very readable under the store lights. I get the impression that it'll be better than the 7650 in normal/bright conditions. The 7650 might be a bit clearer in dark conditions with it's backlighting. The stylus seems tiny - hopefully not as bad as the "toothpick" that I have with my Psion Revo! |

@Esoqq
WHAT!! Does it not have backlighting? So you cannot work with it in the dark??? Oh my god! |

Ok, I hope that is good. BTW does the Ipaq use frontlighting? I think the Ipaq has good lighting. |

I don't know about the Ipaq.
I forgot to mention that the other cool thing I saw done with it was for the guy who looked at it before me. The shop assistant took a pic with the camera and then instantly sent the photo straight to a Bluetooth printer that they had there. I was suitably impressed! |

Cool, that is enough location info for me. I know where it is now. Dunno if they will be open tomorrow due to the holiday but I'm sure going to poke around and see what I can find.
thanks

Handwriting recognition speed seemed absolutely fine (hopefully it still stays that way after a lot of text is input). If you look closely at this old video you can see the user deleting some text then writing a couple of words:

I passed the shop this lunchtime and it wasn't there.
Hopefully they'll have it back tomorrow. |

Has anyone else checked this out recently?
Might have a look if it is open.

I went back again yesterday (30th), and it was back on display. Unfortunately the battery was flat, so I didn't get to play. The size was how I expected - about the same as the 7650, but I was surprised how light it was.
They're adamant that they won't have it until October though
Still, I'm out of the country for a couple of weeks, so hopefully that'll take my mind of wanting one.
