Never had problems with joysticks, and I've had J6, T300, T610, K700 and P900.

You'll soon be wanting a SE phone back. I moved from a K700 to a Nokia 6230, which was awful to say the least and then onto a Samsung D500. Not to say that the D500 was a bad phone, but it really started to miss the old quirky things the SE phones had - like the name of the person your getting a text from in the popup, the organiser function and the overall ease of the menu system and the interface layout. I only had the D500 for a few months then when the K750 came out i promptly sold it on ebay and went to the K750.

There are other good phones out there, but when you're like me and had the T68i, T610, T630, K700 you really do miss the little things that SE do with their phones.

What is the purpose of this farewell speech? If you want to leave SE then simply go. Is this some psychological plea for help? Are you looking for some reassurance, a group hug? Are we supposed to beg you to stay? You like your Samsung, be happy with it and move on.

Sony Ericsson Joysticks have always sucked. T610 broke easily, K700 was wider so less damage there, but the K750's sucks. Its narrow so dust and particles get trapped.

My K700 joystick is starting to die and misbehave. Only after 12 months of light use. My T68m joystick is still flawless after 2yrs.

Well it doesn't take the brains of an Arch Bishop...

Basically I was saying I was not happy with the build quality of my latest SE and therefore have decided to switch manufacturers. It wasn't a plea for help. But you may have noticed this site certainly counts many SE fans amongst it's members and as I am a SE fan, I just though I'd add my 2 cents. Please accept my utter most apologies if in so doing I have offended you...

Point taken. I do quite often pop off the front cover of the K700 and remove the joystick from it's mount to try and get rid of the dust, and to give it a little spray with electical contact cleaner and often this helps but only for a very short period of time. It's just frustrating; and partially dismantling a phone every few days shouldn't be necessary, and it wasn't with the T610 I owned (and which I gave to my brother and is now still funtioning perfectly after 2 years heavy use).

Bad Mistake mate!

My mate just upgrade from the K700i to the D500, he is not a happy bunny! He cant get on with it, he doesn't like the menu system or even the 1.3 mp camera, he even says that the battery is worse than his beloved SE K700i!

Anyway, Hes back using the K700i and the D500 is going on ebay!

Good Luck Anyway,

All the Way! Looking for a w705 PM me! Arizona

Hmmm...

I've never had problems with any SE joysticks. If joystick is an issue, there's always a S700. The toggle pad works as a joystick.

Prior to my S710 I've had a T616 (T610) and believe me, I'm like the king of WAP. Never an issue....

Dude, What I am trying to point out is that there is no perfect phone. They all come up short. SE's in my opinion are the most innovative and are still the leaders. If you had said, "hey guys, I am thinking about leaving SE, give me some ideas or reasons to stay", I would have rolled about a million, but if you made up your mind to go, then there is nothing anyone can do to try and talk you into staying. This is why I said, "just go".

I had joystick problem with SE since T610 (but it's not a big issue and already solved now thanks to SE service), but now the joystick of my K508i really really sucks, it always stuck in the right corner so the menu becomes circulating even I didn't touch nothing.

The good news is my K700i is so far still have no problem at all.

So, I still love SE no matter what (though I no longer have SE P900 cuz I traded it with O2 XPhone IIm now... and the music player and stereo headset of this windows-mobile based smartphone is great and better than SE K700i or P900...)

Apple iPhone 4, HTC Evo 3D, HTC Sensation, HTC Inspire 4G, HTC Desire S, HTC Wildfire, S001, SO905iCS, T650 (Gold & Green), C901, W800, K660, K700, Beibei (G702), Severine (DEAD)

The beautiful and intuitive UI of SE phones is by far the best I have used, much nicer than the new generation Nokias. So despite the average build quality (Moto now have that won) I still prefer SE as it has the best overall package.
