Never buy first batch of ANY SE phone! |

My reason for not buying the first batch would be price. They usually become cheaper after few months from release. In my experience and people I know, defects that are found on phones nowadays are firmware related and are usually solved with a firmware upgrade so it's actually a minor concern.

@Raj. No surprise. The percentage of problem sets should be less. Here at Esato we discuss it & are aware of it.

I just laugh at all the hype over the K750...it's way too expensive and as expected the first batch of phones will invariably have bugs however minor, there'll be bugs. Best thing to do as always would be to wait...for better fw and lower prices.

I've played around with the K750 and didn't have any overwhelming urge to bankrupt myself but then again I'm rational...the same cannot be said for half of the people on here.

I learned that lesson with my K700i. I promised I won't let it happen to me again.

WHEN ARE WE GOING TO LEARN?
Every SE phone (phones above) I have owned have had problems/bugs in the first phones from the factory. I was nearly the first to buy all of the phones above and I had trouble with every single one of them. The pain, the anguish, the horror........ok back to something serious here.
I wan to buy the K750, but I'm not going to because I have learned. Give it 2-3 months all almost 80-90% of the bugs will have dissapeared like magic...
SO WHY ARE WE STILL BYING THE FIRST PHONES TIME AND TIME AGAIN....yes I know we love them, but isn't it time SE got their finger out of their a-hole and not send out phones they know don't work?

Are you perfect? Can you boss count you you do do something perfectly everytime? Go back to a phone that does not have a camera, .mp3 player, or any of the features that easily take for granted. You are a complainer.
*edited on a Mac of course. Mac: There is no substitute*
N82(YES), iPhone 3G, Shure es530, Nikon D300, more stuff. No more SE stuff, why am I still here? |

I sorta agree. Why do people accept the fact that these phones have bugs and consider it ok? You buy a new car and expect it to be perfect, you buy a new tv and expect it to be perfect, the same should be for a phone. If I decide to buy a brand new phone I expect it to work like brand new. I am the public, not a beta tester. I dont understand how Se and other phone companies can sell products which have bugs and are faulty. That's just not on!
Having said that, my K750 has been perfect. Bought on O2, no probs. |

@k700nut, you are kind of right but cars and televisions etc generally have long development cycles whereas mobile phones tend to have very short cycles these days and so quality is bound to suffer.
and its us keeping up the demand for the new models that keeps the development cycles short
also remember that us on groups like this are alot more discerning than the average user who probably doesn't see half the problems discussed here
I do only buy sim free phones and I have rarely been dissapointed by them. The worst I can recall really is the "2" key sticking on the K700 and the T610 hiss and these were surely avoidable problems so we are right to be unhappy about those
but other than that SE tends to take reasonable care in the time given and certainly supports us with firmware updates regularly

I agree that the reason there are so many bugs is because of the neccesity to bring phones out as quickly as possible. But I guess its the demand and the fierce competition. The mobile market has sort of created it for themselves. No longer is it the day when 3 models come out a year. But with so much choice surely it cant go at this rate much longer. Im getting off topic here, better get back to work. |

Hehe, I'm definetely NOT perfect....
BUT these phones I've had have had more then just small problems that don't matter.
In my circle of friends, I'm the only one who has and LOVES SE phones. But in their oppinion, there are a lot of trouble and SW faults with SE phones. AND I HAVE never told them anything about my faulty, completely new phones.
SE does something right, thats for sure....but I remember very VERY hot discussions on SE SW for a very long time here. Especially concerning the T68 range. Have we forgotten.....
Why not pick 100, say 300 phone hungr users to manically test every function on a new phone, fix the bugs, THEN release them? This must be similar to what they are already doing, but not doing good enough in my mind...
I'm going to waint, say 3-4 weeks untill I get the K750, just to be safe.
This is a bad thing for SE because shops will start to compete on the selling price of the K750, nag SE for better discount, resulting in that I will save money..but SE will loose money.
Better phone SW would result in better $ flow for SE...
