You might be interested to know that MTN has switched on it's UMTS network in the major cities of South Africa...soon there'll be real competition in the 3G arena.

@brix: Whoa!!! You guys have it going in SA.

But this keeps me wiondering why MTN continues to give us the very short end of the stick here in Nigeria. Can you imagine that they are the only GSM network yet to say a word about GPRS?!

MTN Nigeria and V-mobile Nigeria have both started GPRS.

Looking at the Nigerian thread the past couple of days one could swear that people were preparing themselves for the second coming in their scramble to get MTN GPRS.

lol @ Brix, i remember feeling the same way when MTN dropped its data rates in South Africa... My online time has subsequently rocketed!

And MTN has gone dodgy on us here in SA. With a zero-cred P.A.Y.G simcard you can connect for free! Takes a coupla tries at times, but it'll connect you eventually... Hehehe, free wap returns?
