i agree that esato has to be carefull not to be seen to be sayin that sellers listed in the a-z or trusted sellers are 100% safe or that they are in any way backed by esato - however it is VERY easy to point this out and infact simply quoting what masseur wrote at the top of the a-z of trusted sellers as a form of disclaimer if it was made a sticky:Quote:

very simply its a member run thread and Esato itself is not responsible for what is posted there and nor is Esato responsible for people using it as a reference or any problems that arise from anything to do with that thread

would solve the problem if esato was worried!!! i still havent heard a good reason for not making this a sticky!
also the arguement about it only being at the top of a particular thread if made a sticky isnt a valid arguement either! as making it a sticky would suit people who post both ways. firstly it would lie clearly at the top of the for sale thread for people who navigate to the particular thread topic they are lookin for and secondly it would remain in the New Posts section most the time also as it is posted in so frequently! making it a sticky would ensure it is easy to find the a-z of trudted sellers no matter what the users style of surfing through esato may be!

First off, thanks to those who have expressed their appreciation I'm glad the A-ZoTS is to your liking & has proved useful.
As for the liability/guarantee side of things then off course Esato doesn't take such responsibility & neither do I. I shall add a disclaimer to that effect soon similar to masseurs first post in the original thread.
As for whether it should be sticky I'm not bothered.
If it is then thats good but if not then I don't mind. Also it is never far from the top as so many posts are made.
I placed the link in my signature to try and increase awareness and since then I'm pleased to see several other people have done the same.
I don't believe it should be moved to the Market Forums though. It does not fit any one section and it cannot be in them all.

you could shadow it, if this version of PHPBB allows that.
Its where you have a thread which looks like a thread but is just a link, a shadow, to another thread.

I didn't know that was possible but if it is then that would be a perfect solution.
Sticky shadow links in each Market Forum with the actual thread remaining where it is.
(Is that what u mean?)

Yep.
It's available in vbulletin as 'copy' or PHPBB (my site has it, but its the latest PHPBB) as a 'shadow'.
I think this version of phpbb is quite old though
