hmm. I am not too woried about how boring the phone looks, more about how it looks and feels.
I loved the build quality of the t610. Even though it seems delicate i must have dropped mine a hundred times and even though it got dented and scratched it still worked perfectly. the only crappy thing was the joystick which got stuck.
Where can I see the D500 in the US. I cant seem to find any network that even supports it let alone a shop that sells it here in Los Angeles.
I think if I see it and fall in love with it then I shall get it, else I will get a t610 and wait to see how the 750 comes out |

Agrees with numb, it is very very boring to use. The icon seem like they have been drawn by a kid. The phone is powerful, but it lacks the punch. 2minutes with the phone and you can keep it down, nothing more to explore/to do.

Definetly go for T610 or whatever stopgap phone and wait like 6-8 weeks for K750i!
Samsungs are dinky, fancy-pansy phones IMO (no offence to you Samsung owners, just donīt try to convince me;) )
Their calendar and messaging is atrocious too. They are the kind of phones that grab your attention until you take the time to go through the menus and/or when you want to customise anything or donīt want it to make cute-ish little sounds and blink multi-colored lights at slightest provocation

Wait for the K750i. That will last a long time and still be a great phone next year.

thanks for all the suggestions guys and gals!
I think for the time being I will just find a cheap old t610 or maybe 630 (they are such great phones really) apart from the camera there is not that much to improve on them I think. They could be a little faster, the joystick last a little longer and have more memory but its still great!
I cant find the D500 anywhere here to have a look at it. I looked at the older cheaper D430 (i think thats the model) which looks like crap. All the phones I saw just looked shit to me, nasty and plasticky all very samey too. I would love to take a look at the 710a but cant find any store with that in either to test it out.
So I shall wait an eternity (the US is just so backwards and behind the times) for the 750 and hope that provides a great replacement for the 610

Well I got the t630 yesterday. Amazingly it all seems to work, its not stolen and everything is good. I love how much faster it is than my old 610 is. I still prefer the styling and finish on the t610 it was just a little bit classier I think. Mine looks good in black though. I am not sure about the keypad though.. kind of a bit nokiaery for my taste.
Still look forward to the 750 coming out here in US.. in about 3 years time! haha |
