look under the batt... the nokia india warranty will only hold true if it says "made by nokia"...

I'm not talking about the handset. The carton. I have a carton of the Ngage QD right now. In that, the address of the manufacturer is Nokia capitel Telecommunications ltd. And the address of the manufacturer is in China. The name of the Importer is Nokia India Pvt ltd.

Sorry guys but go grew market made in finland cost more followed by germany than nokia and at last china thats the fact!. @whiz you finally brought ngage:-)

Well, on the carton it is 8789. I'm sure You'll get it cheaper than that. He got it for 8000 i think. I wonder if this nokia plant would make things cheaper.

They were planning on a plant here. But its not yet confirmed. China for now with its cheap labour seems a more attractive proposition for FDI than India.

@govigov... Its seems You have not come across grey market where you get a variety of nokia and se.. People buy from dubai , hongkong and uk, bring them to Mumbai's grey market to sell.. Beleive it or not i have seen t610 made by se as well as made in china and malaysia... And in case of p900, you get made in france... And i am not talking in air coz i myself deal in cell phones

i am telling the warranty does not hold for phones other that "made by Nokia"

What do you mean not made by Nokia? Grey market cells are made by nokia too' only, that they have not been officially imported by Nokia India.

Grey market never used to cell made by nokia two years back as there used to be a huge difference in the rates between finland made and nokia made.. In high end models, the difference mounts to ten thousand .. It is only after govt slashed the custom duty and then the white market started competing with grey market.. Now the mrp of nokia 3230 is around 20k.. The same thing You'll get in grey market for 17k without bill but it still holds warranty... Now the situation is that you get made by nokia warranted phones cheaper than nokia finland made |
