I must admit that I have never seen that icon before. I have searched through recent SE manuals to no avail. The only thing that isnt mentioned is a voicemail message. I know that Orange send a message to your phone when you have a voicemail waiting for you?

@dbdb

Here's the fix: Remove sim-card. Insert a DIFFERENT sim-card. Turn the phone on. Turn the phone off after a few minutes and insert the first sim-card. Icons gone

Thanks for your effort, jc_white.
I wonder what does the underlined "A" in the icon mean? It's pretty obvious that its something to do with messages right...

Another interesting point is, when I did the master reset (just phone settings) last night, when the phone boots up again, the icon is gone for a few second. But after it detects my network, the icon comes up again.

So it must be something about the network....

Now the only thing I havent done is a master reset including phone data....

CyberVisitor: hmmm.... I haven't tried taking the SIM out though.... does it work if i just take out my SIM and put it back in? I don't have a spare SIM lying around at the moment...
By the way the SIM slot sucks, its a pain to take the SIM out.... much better on a T630

jc: yeah I've checked my voicemail already...

its probably a wap push message sent by your operator

@simple-d

No, taking the sim out and reinserting it will not work. You will have to start the phone with another sim and then reinsert the first sim.

I have had this problem with the fax icon as well. It has to do with the operator. They send signals correctly through the network to enable some icons, but when they are supposed to disable them, then they send the wrong signal so the icon wont go away. The only way to disable the icon from the screen is to have the phone register another sim on a network (any network will do, but it has to be another sim).

@simple-d

Your icon isn't the push icon.

Then what does the icon mean, Cybervisitor? Why isn't it on the manual?
