Ok, I just got off the phone with SE and they told me that I should re download the firmware which I have as R2AE033
I suppose that is the latest firmware, I am not sure, anyway they said that if that didn't work to do a master reset, which I haven't done. I have to back some suff up before I do this, I'll probably do it tonight. Then they said that if that doesn't work, i'll have to send it to the service center, because it might be the phone.
I'll keep you guys updated, but it is really odd when it turns on, defenitly it is alive!!!!

Is this affecting only a particular firmware version? Those whe have this problem on their K700 check out whether they have the same firmware version!

R2AE033 - I never had this problem (not when on R2A041, R2L001 or R2AA003 either).

Since many people seem to have the problem, then it's probably hardware specific... meaning some phones manufactured at a specific time etc.

No other recourse here I guess except to try upgrading with the latest - firmware. Then the author should make some 'progress' report . . . if it will be one ! Good luck ... [addsig]

As i said earlier, my T230 had a similar problem. It was solved when i reloaded the firmware. So i think this thing is firmware related.

A bit offtopic. My T230 used to show "data account not set up". Its lying there untouched for hours and suddenly it lights up and the screen says that message! Funny!

Maybe the phones are being possessed by spirits of the founding fathers of Ericsson who do not approve of the merger with Sony!

That same thing happened to my K700i before but I realized that it only does that when I left my phone and it goes to screeen saver mode while in the middle of some menu or some unfinished job. If it is in the standby screen it doesn't happen.

One instance was when I was playing music and left my phone in the media player screen. After a few minutes it went to screen saver mode (clock and lights off) and after regular intervals it just lights up and dims back right away. But when I minimized the media player and left the phone in the standby screen, it doesn't light up anymore.

It also happens when I left my phone while in the middle of some menu, or in the middle of writing an SMS, or in while in the phonebook screen. So I concluded that when it is in any other screen other than the standby screen it will do that.
resistance is futile.

I think that was its purpose too, to tell you that you have some unfinished business with it.

At least with my phone it does that even if I did not leave anything opened! I'll do the reset tomorrow and let everyone know, I didn't have time today!
