@Vanquish. I noticed there were some on ebay a few weeks ago, going for around £70 from the States. If only we could flash them to work over here..... |

Maybe ALL SE engineers has to be relocated to centralized position in JAPAN.....
No more should ever engineers live in Sweden or London or anywhere else in Europe... All must be transfered to Japan, lives there, eat there, feel their culture and the technology, etc........
As long as the design concept come from Europe, the advancement is lesser than the one come from Japan....
European is not like Asian.... they do not too excited about consumer technology....Even Nokia 3310 still exist in stores in some European countries...

If you guys think Europe is behind Japan, you should see some of the phones that come out here in the states! My Voda V800 is the most advanced phone any of my friends have ever come accross. Some of them still use the Moto V60i

@Strider420
Are you able to use the 3G features of the V800?

@sapibobo What you say may be true from your perspective, however for a company to compete globally it has to have a global appeal. SE is fortunate in having European AND Far eastern experience to draw upon.

@scotsboyuk:
No. I have T-mobile US and they have not rolled out 3G so I can use everything except the Video Call feature through GPRS. Hopefully once they roll out HSDPA in 2006 I will still have the V800 |

Glad you liked it
I bought the phone just to add to my collection, it was only £130 brand new and shipped, which compared to the S700i is cheap as chips(sorry.. ).
It doesn't work here, it probably never will. There is a slight chance as O2 and NTT DoCoMo have signed a deal for i-mode in the UK.
I choose the Orange as it is the least popular really, and it might be worth more in future!
Oh, and if anyone here can read Japanese, I need some help with the manual as I can't tell if it is charging or not! |

@Sidney if i-Mode does launch here you will have probably the coolest phone in the UK. Also, there is an online translator you can use which is quite good. Is the handset not charging?

@goldenface
i-mode is just a WAP service, not a network standard, so unfortunately we will still not be able to use the S0505. Several European countries already use i-mode.

I mode is more than just a wap service. Your device must support it. Say japanese foma phones play final fantasy 7 before crisis using i mode. So the game is real time downloaded from server. There lots of i mode services that can be used for your fun and business. Like checking if your house door is closed through it.

@Wazuki
The point is that the introduction of i-mode to Britain will not mean that non-WCDMA 3G Japanese mobiles will suddenly work on British mobile networks.

@Scotty I know it is network dependent. It sounds absolutely great to me. O2 look like the first to have it here.
