@gov
None, its o2 that lost the customers I would imagine.
Though you have to wonder how they can screw up SMS when everyone else in the world seems to have working K700i's in that regard.
The statement isn't too clear wether its all K700is on the network or just branded ones or even a small % of those branded ones.

I didn't ever have any problems using SMS on my O2 branded K700i, but one thing that always annoyed me is that Delivery Reports never worked. |

I've had my o2 branded k700i ever since 02 first launched it and ive had no problems at all, maybe its their recent handsets.
I figure it must be a firmware problem as people on orange and vodafone with k700i's don't seem to be having a problem.
Granted thou, 02's customer service is pretty crap, 50p a minute for customer care and there email support is good if you ever get a reply, or a decent one at that - thankfully i've not had any reason to call customer care. On the plus side, i do enjoy getting my 500 free texts and .5mb gprs free; not many operators are offering those extras at a reasonable price. |

see my post about their delivery reports and sms system
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=80960
if theres an sms problem its because they clearly are using a system dating back to when sms was first introduced in 1997 and have done nothing to it other than increase capacity. This is why delvery reports continue to not work even though they do on every other network and it wouldnt surprise me if its also why some of these k700s are having problems with it. |

Yeah, although my 02 k700i is fine (i never use delivery reports so i doesn't bother me) sounds like people are getting sent loads of text messages at once, or not getting any.
They've actually removed the k700i and S700i from there website. Sounds to me like this crappy old sms technology there using because im sure a friend of mine had this problem a year ago on his 02 motorola. |

Yeah PAYG is very expensive these days, but i think it affects contract customers as well, must be a pretty big problem if they have completely withdrawn the phone!
Maybe i am one of the fortunate, but i rarely have any problems with 02. |

its not tht much of a rip of as u wud think, i got the 300text 1 but i dnt really top up evry mnth. I got my 3g phone aswell which does me nicely, apart form the awful reception! i still can say that o2 has one of the best payg tariffs, unlike the other networks that are a real rip off. |

The S700i is still available on O2 as at 20:56 from 'shop' it's in the handset sale box.
Can't say I ever had an issue with the K700i, but to put a different context other than 'slagging off O2' (who I've had my fair share of problems with) the K700i has been out of stock for the last three days as my partner has been trying to upgrade account.
