@david:
I have managed to connect quite easily a T630. First you need to make a new GPRS data profile in the "Data Accounts" area of the T630. Use the following GPRS settings:
APN: payandgo.o2.co.uk
Username: payandgo
Password: password
Then you need to make note of the SID ID of the GPRS connection. Your phone should display it in the "Data Accounts" area (I'm assuming you're using a T610 or similar). It's just a single digit number.
Then it gets a bit trickier depending on how you want to make the connection with your computer. The basic idea is that you have to make a new entry in Dial Up Networking that allows your computer to dial your phone. I use Bluetooth and the software that came with the adapter created a new connection automatically.
Once you've made the new modem entry in Dial Up Networking, you need to set it to dial *99***SID# - so if the SID is 2 then your phone number is *99***2# ... username is "payandgo", password is "password". If you've got it all connected right then your phone should dial the GPRS connection and Windows should display it's usual flashing computers icon.
Then make sure in your Internet settings (in Control Panel) that you have the proxy set up and switched on for HTTP and HTTPS traffic (193.113.200.195 port 8080), and it should just work.

@dragon2611: I really wouldn't worry about it mate, O2 don't seem like the kind of company that are going to bother checking up on it any time soon, but just as a precaution I'd use a sim that you haven't paid for with a credit card or anything like that, something where they don't know it's you. Besides they can't complain, they're the ones that left it free...
@jonat18: Thanks for all the help you've given, that step by step version above is just brilliant. The only problem I have is that I'm using a usb datacable and I can't seem to get the phone to show up in phone monitor just yet. I think the solution might be just to get a BT dongle eh, and then I'll be putting those steps above into practice and reporting back on whether it works for me or not.

If they suddenly began 2 charge & for past usage my GPRS bill would be sky high 237 x 2.35 = 556.95, I cant pay that, lol |

As far as I know the dial-up networking wizard is specific to SE so it should work no matter where your location is, sorry I took so long to reply.
An update: internet now works through the connection settings mentioned above, and the speed is immense. I'm getting 115kbps, which is twice as fast as dial-up, and I can get this anywhere in UK (well around 97% coverage anyway).
Oh, and if anyone still wonders the proxy is still free, although it might cost the odd pence to make the connection. I hope it stays like this.
Thanks for all the help guys

Yea, it's totally awesome, i hope they never make it cost again. I doubt they're losing money cos most people aren't clever enough to work out how to do it.
