@sammy_boy - Many thanks mate ! I guess I'll be better off bringing the fone in an authorized SE center to have the firmware upgraded - to be 100% sure here.

Do I really have to have that DSS 02-25 Syncstation when upgrading my fone's firmware, will a bluetooth transfer not do? Also, will I be getting same results if I upgrade my K700i online against that at authorized upgrade SE service centers? . . . Just having doubts here, my fone might go berserk after updating online!

you need to think of updating the phone software the same as reinstalling your computers os.... basically you are installing new phones OS.

It goes without saying, that the phone needs to be switched off (non operational) for this procedure. The whole software update is run from 'outside' the phone and can NOT be done by because the bluetooth connection on the phone is controlled by the phones software and therefore non useable when this very software is being updated.

And THIS is xactly why you need the sync station..... for the proper sort of connection between your phone and the 'external updating agent'.

And flashing at home gives you the exact same result as flashing at a service centre... you're all tapping into the same resources in the end.

I wonder why people are so afraid to do it themselves?

If at first you don't succeed,
look in the trash for the instructions

Vlammetje - Many thanks for that thorough explanation . . . Since I am not very good at celfone/PC technicalities, I might just rather leave it to the experts! Just like what you said/stated above, I have no time to look for the instructions in the trash, 'cause I always 'shred' the manuals - instantly ! I hate paper trash cluttered in my work desk, that's why . . . Again, many thanks! I'll better leave it to the experts Marga!

I've ordered a DSS-25 online after being met with blank faces in phone shops all over Bradford when asking for one. Is it really that rare to see one in the wild?!

I guess no mate, only by cradle (DSS 20 or 25 model), as what many are suggesting here . . . Good Luck!
